There's a lot of people here questioning Rizzo. They came out of nowhere and have been underbidding WM and Republic, yet they always have brand new equipment.
As to blaming Bush, the water crisis is the fault of the State of Michigan, under a Republican governor and legislature.

Did you read your own link??? It's not because of a lack of funds, its a battle between city council and mayor over which company gets the contract.

Um, the six new people charged were STATE employee's, not Flint employees.

      From your link:

Chicago (AFP) - Authorities in the US state of Michigan filed criminal charges Friday against six current and former state officials over lead water contamination in the city of Flint, signaling that their probe is expanding.
The criminal investigation is focused on the State not the city. Just beginning.

Chief investigator Andrew Arena said his team was "starting to work our way up" in the areas of state government they were investigating, and expanding the probe "into other departments."
The highest ranked official charged is Liane Shekter Smith, who was fired in February from her post as chief of Michigan's Department of Environmental Quality.
“The time has come,” the Walrus said,
      “To talk of many things:
      Of shoes—and ships—and sealing-wax—
      Of cabbages—and kings—
And why the sea is boiling hot—
      And whether pigs have wings.”

I would dump my trash on the lawn of the mayor's residence. I'm sure he still gets his trash collected.

This is not a money issue even though Flint went broke years ago. Property owners foot the bill of trash collection through a property tax assessment.

This is a city leadership fight over who will get the contract, a deal that smells of kickback. Since the old contract has expired and the new one is not yet authorized, the city will stink of uncollected garbage until the matter gets settled.

Not if they follow my idea. It will be settled in no time at all.
