Nobody in thier right mind would deny that slaves had a raw deal, I know I would never want to experience what they went through.
There is no singular act that can compensate victims of a great evil generations after they have past.
The truth is not all Americans of African decent are decendants of American slaves, some migrated to the US many years after that peculiar institution was dismantled by the years of efforts by others, many more are of mixed race marriges.
One can only imagine the payday awaiting lawyers and accountants if repatriations took place.
The disturbing thing to me is the assumption that we alive today are somehow entitled to reimbursement for the sufferings of people they never knew and have nothing in common with other than some measure of DNA.

Sometimes not having a place to go is better.

The Freed Slaves never did get that forty acres and a mule.. Maybe that is what part of these reparations are for?

You are comparing the holocaust with slavery? Where were the death camps in the US? Where were exterminations conducted?

Sounds like Farrakhan, they can have all this in Africa.

They don't just want reparations for the past.

    2. Reparations for past and continuing harms.
    What are these continuing harms?

Both sides of my family tree didn't immigrate here until the last decade of 1800 and early decade of 1900. We had nothing to do with former and deceased slaves so under no obligation to their deadbeat descendants.

Here in Phoenix, well Tempe, a White police Lieutenant shot a Black 20 something year old a couple of days ago. One round, one hit.

Local rabble rouser Jarrett Maupin with a "crowd" of about 50 people want the officer charged.

Now comes the kicker... The kid was in the middle of robbing a Walgreen's and the employees that called 911 told the operator that the kid said he had a gun.
When he tried to flee from the store, police repeatedly ordered him to stop, etc., which he ignored. The Lieutenant who shot him, stated he thought the kid was pulling his gun out.
The kid was running towards an assisted living home at the time.

Oh, the family of this thug made excuses for his behavior... How usual...

The slaves may have deserved something.... but there are none alive today.....and they had their freedom stolen........ but not their wealth.
