There is no singular act that can compensate victims of a great evil generations after they have past.
The truth is not all Americans of African decent are decendants of American slaves, some migrated to the US many years after that peculiar institution was dismantled by the years of efforts by others, many more are of mixed race marriges.
One can only imagine the payday awaiting lawyers and accountants if repatriations took place.
The disturbing thing to me is the assumption that we alive today are somehow entitled to reimbursement for the sufferings of people they never knew and have nothing in common with other than some measure of DNA.
