  • North Carolina GOP blast Dem VP Candidate for Foreign Flag Pin

NC State GOP tweeted out that it was disgraceful that Mr Kaine would wear an Honduras flag pin while giving his remarks. He was a missionary there for a year some years ago.

An upstate NY reporter helped to save them from further embarassment when she tweeted them and told them that the pin was actually a 'blue star' pin sometimes worn by those with deployed children or family members. Mr Kaine's son is a deployed Marine.

    Oops.

I don't understand how anyone at that level of politics could be so stupid!

We're in the era, for both sides, where everyone is waiting for a way to attack the other side.

Best part was that a Honduran flag doesn't even look like the pin.

Because most politicians don't have children in the military. It's a lot easier to send other peoples' children to die than your own.

This is yet another example of how anti-intellectual and ignorant the Republican Party has become in recent years. The race to the bottom is a mark of pride for Republicans ... the more ignorant, and the more uneducated the better.

During WW2 a banner version of the lapel pin were commonly displayed on the houses of people who had family members in the military. I also recall seeing them over the past 15 years of fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan although they are obviously not as widespread as during WW2. This is basic knowledge folks ...

Seems like a nicely placed trap. Wear the pin, allow the other side to embarrass themselves criticizing it incorrectly, before the correct information to be revealed without sounding boastful. Very cunning. The person who suggested it should be promoted, forthwith.

I'm thinking he planned that Catholic Mission trip years ago to lead to THIS moment!

Congratulations! Your satirical take on what a brainwashed Conservative would say is one of the funniest things I've read in years.

                            ....you were joking....weren't you?

I mean, you don't actually think a guy with a son in the military would wear a pin that indicates his son is serving in the military in the hope that some idiot would think it was a Honduran flag....do you? That would be.....

Well it’s a good thing that the left is there to save us. Where would we be without the progs flying in their private jets to tell us about global warming/cooling/warming/umm climate change.
Or the BLM group telling us how blacks are being slaughtered by police at a rate half as much as whites are.
But at least we know that when it comes to upholding the law the Dims will be all over everyone except themselves.
Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it whether it exists or not, diagnosing it incorrectly and applying the wrong remedy. -- Ernest Benn
