  • Trump Campaign Solicits Illegal Donations from Foreign Politicians

You can't make this up. They even sent donation emails to the leader of a Feminist Green party in Iceland.

The emails to Gale were among a wave of fundraising pleas inexplicably sent by the Trump campaign in recent days to lawmakers in the United Kingdom, Iceland, Australia and elsewhere. The solicitations prompted watchdog groups in Washington to file two separate complaints Wednesday with the Federal Election Commission alleging that the Trump campaign was violating federal law by soliciting funds from foreign nationals.

“The scale and scope of this does seem somewhat unprecedented,” said Brendan Fischer, associate counsel for the Campaign Legal Center, which joined Democracy 21 in one of the complaints.

On Wednesday, two campaign finance watchdog groups, the Campaign Legal Center and Democracy 21, said they will lodge a complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) alleging that Trump’s campaign has violated federal law by soliciting donations from politicians in Scotland, Australia and Iceland, among others.

“Donald Trump should have known better,” said Paul S Ryan, deputy executive director of Campaign Legal Center. “It is a no-brainer that it violates the law to send fundraising emails to members of a foreign government on their official foreign government email accounts, and yet, that’s exactly what Trump has done repeatedly.”

The Federal Election Campaign Act prohibits “any foreign national from contributing, donating, or spending funds in connection with any federal, state, or local election in the United States, either directly or indirectly. It is also unlawful to help foreign nationals violate that ban or to solicit, receive or accept contributions or donations from them.”

Foreign nationals are prohibited from making any contributions or expenditures in connection with any election in the U.S. Please note, however, that "green card" holders (i.e., individuals lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the U.S.) are not considered foreign nationals and, as a result, may contribute.

I don't believe it. Trump may be blowhard, a brut, and whatever else. However, I seriously doubt the story. It seems more likely that it is a false flag operation to discredit him. After all, one of the major issues against Hillary is her acceptance of foreign money in her "foundation".

The Clinton Foundation has made them millionaires. Not bad for a couple of Hicks from Arkansas that did not even own a house before they went to Washington! They MUST have been giving something to the donors worthwhile.

Well, in Hillary's case it sure wasn't sex. Bill went elsewhere for that and even he has standards...

I’m no fan of Hilary Clinton but suggesting that she is taking money from a charity that she and her husband set up is a very serious accusation and is contrary to what’s stated in black and white on their website.
Have you any evidence to back it up?

Do you give money to charity? Do you volunteer? If so what back-handers do you get in return?

As for Hilary, her BS story about her emails, now that’s a good stick to beat her with.

Do you think Trump's missus married him for his sex appeal?
There's something distinctly misogynistic about targeting a female politician in relation to her looks or sex appeal.

The Maobama campaign did the same thing...

                http://nation.foxnews.com/obama-camp...obama-campaign

Sending emails or fund raising letters to people who are ineligible to be contributors is a waste of.campaign resources; but it only breaks the law if the campaign accepts funds and fails to return them.

No candidate personally oversees every mailing list used by their campaign and supporting organizations.

Trump Bashing: When Democrats do this, it merits a brief mention on Fox News or the Washington Times. When Republicans do this, it merits 24-7, above the fold coverage by CNN, the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Grauniad and the rest of lib****ia.

When the Clinton Foundation solicits donations from foreigners it's entirely within the law. When The Donald does so it's illegal.

Anyways according to Charity Watch, only 12% of donations to the Clinton Foundation goes to overhead with makes them one of the more efficient and least corrupt charities on their site.

The Clintons are not millionaires because of their silly charity, but because of book sales and speech fees. You can hate Hillary, but hate her for real reasons.

And Saudi Arabia contributed heavily to Hilary's campaign, as did the Chinese to Bill.

I, for one, do not want the Benghazi Killer in the White House.

Trump remains by far the lesser of two evils.

                            Bought a bridge recently?

The 'charity' is a real reason to hate her. Their paperwork has been falsified and even the legality of the 'foundation' is questioned. Charity Navigator has removed the 'foundation' from it's list of charity organizations.

In Hillary's case I can't understand why anyone would on the basis of personality. Hillary is vicious. At her warmest, she's cold, calculating, mendacious, vicious, calculating, and narcissistic. In short, she's a female evil Richard Nixon on steroids.
