  • Air FOrce Vet dragged out of Ceremony for mentioning God.

I was wondering about this story and since I never served what you all think about it. I think there is probably more to this than what is reported here or maybe not. http://www.breitbart.com/big-governm...ny-saying-god/

Much like Starns I'd bet there's much left out of the story. Was the guy banned because of previous behavior? I can't see that type of reaction to some joe invited to a ceremony. Maybe its just its been a long time since I was A/F but something is really wrong in this story...
    Credo quia absurdum.

Quantum mechanics describes nature as absurd from the point of view of common sense. And yet it fully agrees with experiment. So I hope you can accept nature as She is - absurd! - Richard Feynman

Doesn't sound right to me either. We still have chaplains, and I've God mentioned at least once in the last year, or so, at a base function.

I always consider the source, I know which way the wind blows on just about every source on the internet!

          “flag-folding speech” never heard one.

About the only times I heard God mentioned it was usually followed with a D---
"Ask not what your country can do for you"

Left wing, Right Wing same bird that they are killing.

I know the AF chastised me for using colorful "sailor" language on an AF base / office building more than once. Seems that's not allowed in the AF today...

Not that it had any lasting effect...

Haven't you heard? The Air Force is trying to eliminate its chaplains and religion as well. It was all over the news a year or so ago.

I agree. The article leaves a lot of things unanswered.

The retired lifer who got dragged away had been banned from the base, but showed up anyway to a retirement ceremony to which he had been invited.

He was preparing to read a three page statement when he was asked to leave, then removed.

"Rodriguez ignored numerous requests to respect the Air Force prescribed ceremony and unfortunately was forcibly removed," a Travis official said in a statement to FoxNews.com. "We will continue to investigate the situation fully."
Religion had nothing to do with it.

Any man can hold his place when the bands play and women throw flowers; it is when the enemy presses close and metal shears through the ranks that one can acertain which are soldiers, and which are not.
