  • White, male writers creates hostile culture for students of color

A group of 'colored' English majors from Yale want to change the curriculum by not be required to read works by English poets such as Shakespeare, John Milton and T.S. Eliot.

Okay, humor me. Who can replace them? Most poets and writers of that era were white men.

If you ask me...Yale is creating an environment that is hostile to learning.

You should have expelled them to Zimbabwe so they could advise the President there on policy.

I tried reading John Milton and T.S Eliot and came up short, so I do understand if they want to change it. The thing is, what curriculum is this? If it's about English literature and poetry then perhaps they would be better served studying something else...

Seems like a ploy to get a new course created that would serve their purpose.

Tell 'em to "do an Obama" - go for a worthless degree in Community Activism with a minor in Black Studies. Good for working in the inner city ghettos.
