  • Trump, 10 years from now the GOP will be "The Workers Party."

My who could have predicted this even 4 years ago.

    http://www.politico.com/story/2016/0...s-party-223598

“Five, 10 years from now — different party. You’re going to have a worker’s party," Trump said in the May 17 interview. "A party of people that haven’t had a real wage increase in 18 years, that are angry."
Trump reiterated that cutting Social Security would be a "big mistake" for the GOP, remarking that "[c]utting it the wrong way is a big mistake, and even cutting it [at all]."
I guess the Speaker Ryan budgets of 2011 with plans to cut social security will NOT be part of Trumps campaigning....

GOP The Workers Party..... just think what would be on the rightwing websites if Democrats were using that label.....
“The time has come,” the Walrus said,
    “To talk of many things:
    Of shoes—and ships—and sealing-wax—
    Of cabbages—and kings—
And why the sea is boiling hot—
    And whether pigs have wings.”
    ― Lewis Carroll

    You can add this one,

"It was reported in the failing New York Times and other places that I want to default on debt," Trump complained. "I'm the king of debt. I understand debt probably better than anybody. I know how to deal with debt very well. I love debt."

I read quotes like that and I cringe at the thought of Trump as the republican candidate, but then I remember Hillary.

I do understand, it's a though situation to be in.

Prevailing theory here seems to be that he's smarter than his quotes make him out to be and pretending to be stupid is actually part of his sales pitch.

        A serious gamble though.

Clinton, as I stated in the other thread, is a known quantity.

Have you noticed you refer to the one as "Hillary" and the other as "Trump", not "Donald" ?

Any conscious reason for that ?

Referring to Clinton as Clinton would lead to confusion as to which Clinton one is referring to. Also generally women are referred to by their first name.

So in ten years the Republicans will be the National Socialist American Worker's party, and the Democrats will be the National Socialist American Freeloader's party...

Well, in ten years only GOP voters will have jobs.
Any man can hold his place when the bands play and women throw flowers; it is when the enemy presses close and metal shears through the ranks that one can acertain which are soldiers, and which are not.

Nothing to really see here, this is along the same lines with Romney's 47% don't pay taxes comment. While Romney's 47% hurt him, his rallies weren't getting aggressive demonstrations/riots from the '47%'.

Trump on the otherhand has managed to get aggressive demonstrations/riots at his rallies...Mexican Flags, foul language, rocks, bottles, property destroyed....

Trump is a good showman and that is what usually wins elections. The people demonstrating against him are actually helping him by proving his points.

President Obama in 2008 offered us "Yes we can" & "Change" while McCain offered "Country first."

President Obama in 2012 offered us "Forward" while Romney offered "Believe in America."

Now Trump is offered "Make America great again" and the protesters are burning his signs, flying the Mexican Flag and vandalizing property.....

Hillary is offering "Hillary for America" Bernie is offering "A future to believe in."

Trump has the upper hand in slogans and left is giving him more votes everytime a rock is thrown.
"I don't discuss sitting presidents," Mattis tells NPR in an interview. "I believe that you owe a period of quiet."

Yes, I'm lazy and don't wish to type their full names. I call Trump by his last name because that is how he is best known, his first name is common and "The Donald" as he once was known probably isn't well known anymore.
I call Hillary by her first name so as to avoid confusion with her husband.
And, "Hillary" isn't a common name so it should be clear whom I am referring to.
I also call "Bernie" by his first name.

It is astonishing to me that the idiots rioting while waving Mexican flags don't realize that they are proving Trump's points about illegal aliens.

That's pretty much what I'm getting out of it.....at least the opinions being pushed.

What people don't seem to get is a political entity being the "Worker's Party" isn't a bad thing. The Nazis and Leninists and Maoists pretty much screwed it up, but in all seriousness what's wrong with a "Worker's Party"?

Trump's quote was about the American Worker being sick and tired. The Democrats and Republicans both have been trampling them. The Democrats drop their handout-socialism to their faithful.....which the American Worker actually pays for. The Republicans AND Democrats support big business which sends jobs overseas. Both Parties have also been raping Social Security for decades.....a program paid for by American Workers for American Workers......that is now just a piggy bank for Welfare of one sort or another.

Hate him you might, but Trump is saying what a lot of the working class is thinking. "Why is Welfare solvent, and Social Security not?", "Why are soldiers and retirees checks threatened every budget cycle, but the food stamp cards refilled like clockwork?", "Why do college students with stupid degrees get loans forgiven while creditors come knocking at my door?", "Why do American companies pay tariffs and suffer inspections in other countries on products while Chinese crap gets over here scot free to be recalled months later for violations no American product could get away with".....and so on.

The Working Class.....those that work jobs, pay taxes, and don't get free sh!t, are pissed off. We've been pissed off. We're pissed off at the College Professors telling everyone how to act even though they couldn't keep their Subaru running if they tried. We're pissed off at being called intolerant, Nazis, racists, and bigots by people who have never produced anything of value in their pathetic lives. We're pissed off at a government that only cares about the top 1% and the bottom 50%, one end lining their pockets and the other end getting their pockets lined.

So yeah....we need a worker's party, because the people that actually do F*CKING WORK in this country haven't been represented in DECADES!

                      From the linked article:

"presumptive Republican presidential nominee seemed to suggest that the U.S. government might not pay all of what it owes."

"Just what he was suggesting remained unclear"

                      "Trump went on to suggest"

                      "Trump seemed to acknowledge"

                      "Trump also seemed to concede"

The article is nothing more than someone's personal feelings, nothing really news worthy.....it just 'seems' to be newsworthy....

Nichols, don't you know it's all about feelings.

If you feel you're a woman today, then you are.

Even Rousseau would be appalled at how his quote has been perverted.

Plus, there are some 'bills' that I wouldn't be paying if I were the US.

Not to mention there's an entire wealth of Foreign Aid that wouldn't be handed out........starting with ALL of it.

Why not? Someone in America has to work in order to support the Democratic Welfare and Illegals Party.

We should all be thankful that Republicans are still trying to work and pay taxes so this circus can stagger on a few years longer.

And after that, I would call in Mexico's vast debt, unless all border crossing stop permanently, and all illegals are recalled from American soil. Mexico, as Trump has pointed out, can build the Wall. They have all the cheap labor in the world.

Definitely no more foreign aid - if they become our enemies it';s cheaper to bomb them than to keep on giving them huge amounts of money and material aid.
