I agree this is getting old quickly...if people support Hillary or Sanders they should go to those rallies and show their support, or help with their campaigns. Disrupting what would otherwise be a peaceful rally for Trump is not an acceptable way to do this. These idiots who show up and start with the protests and violence are obvious Clinton or Sanders people who I guess represent that group of supporters, and they look worse all the time. Clinton and Sanders should both be expressing outrage that their supporters are such hate-filled violent scum.

It is not like Trump supporters are showing up at Hillary rallies and causing scenes.

Boston tea party was also a crime and act of thuggery, but it had to be done. I don't think anyone should really be surprised at the reaction Trump is getting. After all, most Republicans love Trump for his ability to incite anger in the left.

I feel people should stand up for what they believe in, and fight against tyranny by any means necessary. The unfortunate thing here is that the alternative to Trump is equally as bad.

The sad thing for me was that I heard a radio station remote broadcast from the site of the Trump rally, which was done a couple hours before the actual rally. There were a lot of people there, the radio hosts interviewed a lot of them and most of them were pro-Trump but some were just there to experience a political rally. It was pretty much all positive, people were having a good time etc. They even interviewed some of what I consider a mostly silent group--Latinos who don't support illegal immigration--and these people they talked to were pro-Trump (they said they'd gone through the process, been patient, paid the fees etc and became legal and why shouldn't others have to do the same?) There were kids and families there too.

The radio show was over before the violence started but what really upset me was the positive atmosphere that was there for the rally turned so negative when these thug protesters showed up and just destroyed it. Imagine kids who were there supporting Trump (I'm sure influenced by their parents) seeing the violent scum attacking people who minutes before were peacefully trying to attend a rally. How's a kid going to understand this? What kid is going to be pro-Clinton or pro-Sanders when the people they were standing next to were violently and for no reason attacked by scum?

One other thing I remembered from the radio show was that they interviewed a few kids who were from a middle school, and the kids mentioned how they had at least one teacher who daily went on about Trump being evil in class. Teachers who use the classroom to rant about politics should be fired. There's no place for that unless it's a high school US Government class, and even then they should make every effort to avoid choosing sides.

My question is where are the cops? They are supposed to protect the law abiding...

Yesterday and don't wait until tomorrow.

Teachers are there to teach and not offer opinions unless ask and even then they should avoid the question

I was one of those 'undecided' voters who were there to see what Trump is all about. When it turned violent I left, I wanted no part of it. There were many others there that were like me...undecided, but the crazy protestors inadvertently turned many of them into real Trump supporters.

The Burlingame Police consist of 37 police officers; 1 Chief of Police, 1 Captain, 2 Lieutenants, 6 Sergeants, 6 Corporals, 2 Inspectors, 2 Traffic Officers, 1 School Resource Officer and 21 Patrol Officers. There are also 25 admin staff at the police department.

Even IF they had everyone out there, they would still have been outnumbered. They had to call in back up from the CHP and they still couldn't contain the crazy troublemakers.

The greater the thuggery of protesters, the more they will accomplish the opposite of what they intended. Trump's supporters will become enamored to vote for him. Their anger at being kept from peacefully rallying will drive them to the polls in larger numbers. At the same time, supporters of Trump's opponents will not likewise be impassioned to make sure they vote.

The absolute worst outcome here is that these protesters start showing up at election sites trying to harass Trump voters. That would go over like a lead balloon with the public at large. A violent mass protest at the RNC convention would only end up like the 68 DNC Chicago convention riots. It would have the exact opposite effect the rioters wanted.
