  • Notes from Oregon

Since some very strange & mean things seem to be happening here and the rest of the nation is not hearing about it, I'm going to set this up and maybe get it as a sticky later on if I can keep it filled with new things as the weeks go by.
Living in isolation from the rest of the nation can be a good thing, but sometimes it can make you vulnerable to some seriously bad .

To start with, this is anything but unusual; Trump supporters harassed into silence at a University.
Portland State Students supporting Donald Trump for U.S. President attempted to host its first planning meeting tonight. Instead, Trump supporters found themselves in the midst of protestors holding banners from various groups representing students of color and movements like 15 Now and Disarm PSU. The meeting escalated after about 40 minutes to shouting, interruptions, name-calling and threats. Threats came mostly from some of the students protesting against the Trump organizers. Protestors took over the attempted meeting using the mic check method–mostly instigated by PSU Student Union organizers.
That makes it notable is the blatantly threatening behavior of the anti-Free Speech gangsters-
“Every single Trump supporter has a full legal name attached to a social security number with a place of residence, [and] an employer…that information is easy to find online,” said one protester. The same protester jumped on a table and was in a near-fight with Students for Trump organizer Stephen Johnston after being called an “Anti-faggot.”
They might as well be wearing brown shirts.

Typical Leftist behavior. Shout down the opposition, say nothing relevant. Forget any attempt at debate or dialogue, the Left has no desire to engage in it.

I see the same crap here whenever brave conservative students try to show support for Trump at UC Berkeley or UC Santa Cruz.

Homes with Republican political signs almost always get vandalized, unless there are cameras visible. Most put up dummy cameras just to discourage the vandals.

THey were all playing to the camera... except for all the cowards that were just standing around letting one guy carry all the water for them.

People, if you see something like that, SAY something, don't just stand around like a bump on a log, watching the world go by.

                  More Push-back vs. BLM overreach

Oregon county makes good on $1.4 billion threat to sue state over

                  logginghttp://www.oregonlive.com/politics/index.ssf/2016/03/linn_county_logging_lawsuit.html
Linn County Chairman Roger Nyquist, joined by attorney and lobbyist John DiLorenzo, first laid out their claims at a Capitol press conference Jan. 13. At the time, they put overall losses at $35 million a year since 2000, when the 1998 rule took effect.

Much of the money they're seeking would be used to guarantee $35 million in annual payments going forward. That money would be divided among whichever counties and districts join the lawsuit.

"The state's contractual obligation is to manage our forests in a way that benefits both rural counties and the environment," Nyquist said in a statement. "They're not doing that, and rural communities are paying the price. I believe that a jury will reach the same conclusion."

A spokeswoman for Gov. Kate Brown didn't immediately respond to questions seeking comment. Brown's office has a policy of not commenting on pending legal matters.

                  Heh heh, guess what?

The BLM has been planning almost continuously since 2003, at an expense of tens of millions of dollars. A plan proposed by the BLM in 2009 was shelved by the Obama administration, which opted to begin a whole new planning process that is just now concluding. “The Counties have been involved with the BLM from the beginning as formal “cooperating agencies.” As elected officials we did a lot of cooperating with the BLM, but unfortunately, the BLM did almost no cooperating with us,” said Commissioner Tim Freeman of Douglas County, Treasurer of AOCC. Multiple failings of the draft plan were the subject of extensive comments and positive suggestions the Counties provided to the BLM on August 20, 2015. “There is no indication the BLM took seriously any of our suggestions,” said Commissioner Freeman.

                    ATTACK????

Get real. Less of an attack than you get everyday in a working class bar with people exchanging opinions.

Are they doing this where YOU live, too?

The Gang-Green Mafia wants to smash all the Dams on the Klamath River. The four of them provide power for 70,000 homes (and of course replace it with Solar and Wind, in a part of the country where sunshine and wind are both unreliable and will cost 50 times as much) so that they can have Salmon... in a river where they are not indigenous to begin with.
And to top it off, the irrigation provided to farms and ranches by those dams will be replaced by fossil-fule burning pumping stations, that will only make water avaialable in a much more limited and expensive way.

So, once again, Govt control creates shortages where none existed before.

                      Crazy idea, you say?
Bad news, Oregon and California, it is practically a done deal. Whatever the Gang-Green Mafia wants, it gets.

In San Francisco, hundreds of miles away, they have already made up theri monds with a bogus study-

People who LIVE there, on the other hand-

                      http://klamathbucketbrigade.org/H&N'...scam110211.htm

Note the dates; they never stop trying, every year they just amp-up the pressure and push even harder... no matter how many popular votes they lose and not matter how much local opposition there is.
But hey, destroying ranches and farms is such a laudable goal, ain't it?
Well, if you are a shareholder in Monsanto and the Factory Farm Industry, I guess so....

The BLM's plans for managing 2.5 million acres of Federal public land in Western Oregon will affect target shooting, as it is considered recreation. This will anger many in rural parts of Oregon.

And now, for something really awful-

Portland school board bans climate change-denying materials

                              http://portlandtribune.com/sl/307848...ying-materials

Here's what we have. In Portland's public schools, kids will be taught only the theory of man-made global warming. Contrary materials shall be removed. We can safely assume this will be policed, all of which reveals 'man-made global warming' isn't as compelling as they'd have us believe. Think of it. Intentional ignorance, structured and enforced. Mandatory induction into something called "climate justice activism". In an American school system. In the 21st Century. Every bust of Galileo just shed a tear.

The Resolution cited in the article is two pages of cloying drivel that challenges gastric continence. It offers this reason to "get rid of textbooks or other materials that cast doubt on whether climate change is occurring and that the activity of human beings is responsible":

All Portland Public Schools students should develop confidence and passion when it comes to making a positive difference in society, and come to see themselves as activists and leaders for social and environmental justice—especially through seeing the diversity of people around the world who are fighting the root causes of climate change; and it is vital that students reflect on local impacts of the climate crisis, and recognize how their own communities and lives are implicated.
