‘This Is How the Fascists Do It’: Watch How Protesters Try to Shut Down Ben Shapiro’s Campus Lecture

    EXCERPT:
    ...
“Folks if you just joined the live-stream, someone pulled the fire alarm to stop us because this is how the fascists do it,” the conservative writer said.
Shapiro continued his speech before lashing out at the university — which had tried to cancel the event — for failing to secure a safe environment for conservative thought to be expressed on campus.
“Where the fu— is the administration on this campus?” he asked. “Where the hell is the administration on this campus?”
“If this sort of thing happened during classes at this university, the kid that pulled the fire alarm would be off this campus so fast it would make your head spin,” he continued. “But not you out there, the protesters. Those special, magical leftist children, protected from the consequences of living in the real world with my taxpayer dollars. You get to shut us down for disagreeing with your thug tactics and your nasty, pathetic, evil ideology.”
As Shapiro spoke inside, dozens of students and Black Lives Matter protesters demonstrated in front of the auditorium.
A Young America’s Foundation program officer, who helped organize the event, wrote on Twitter that the “crowd of leftists outside is so dangerous that we had to sneak students into the auditorium through the back door.”
Things did not immediately subside after the event concluded. Shapiro said police told him that the crowd outside could pose a threat to his safety and escorted him off the campus through a secret exit. Meanwhile, protesters blocked the main entrances and exits, leaving attendees “imprisoned” inside the auditorium.

Unfortunately, not the first time such "tolerance of diversity" has been shown to conservative speakers on USA college campuses.

    Who are the Counter-Revolutionaries?

What was the main item produced from our Revolution?

    The Bill of Rights.

Who's trying to tear it down?

Yeah, conservative speakers aren't very welcome on most campuses, even if just to make a speech at a graduation. No question that there's a hypocritical bias on most campuses that refuses to acknowledge that any conservative thought could possibly have value. Liberals have been extremely intolerant for a long time of any views that aren't their own, and in fact in my experience are far more hateful and negative than most conservatives. The idea that they're the more tolerant and diverse side is laughable.

They aren't the "new fascists." They're the same ones as the old fascists, communists, agitators, agitprops, anarchists, and other associated violent villainy of the Left...

Not to MM, that's the headline of the article linked so I went with their theme. May want to take it up with them.

BTW how do you define fascism and how would define these uncivil and hostile actions?

Sadly the left seems to have become as intolerant as it claims the right was in the 1950s and 60s.
They have become exactly what they used to condemn.

They've always been that way. The difference is that in the Electronics Age they can't hide it, explain it away, or keep it out of the flow of information the way they could in the Industrial Age.

I hold up as a prefect example of that, the CBS smear of Bush with the forged National Guard documents Dan Rather reported on. In the late Industrial Age, say 1960, those would have been damning and hurt Bush's chances for election. It would have taken months for the truth to come out and then it would be a small correction, "Oh, we were mistaken. Sorry."

In the Electronics Age it was less than 72 hours and every document expert on the planet was saying they were forgeries. Then the paper trail and how Rather got them came out in that same time period. He retired in disgrace, several high up CBS employees were shown the door and the documents had, if any effect, the opposite outcome of what was intended.

Dan Rather still doesn't think he was mistaken.
He describes the fraud as an "uncomfortable truth",

The fact that the Birthers remained long after they were disproven time and again sorta undercuts your message, however.

The truth, as it were, only applies when one is willing to accept it. If one already believes the matter is settled - or they deliberately set a high standard for 'proofs' that can never be met - then one is unlikely to change their opinion, even when presented with hard evidence to the contrary.

Consider how many Americans still believe Obama is a secret Muslim born outside of Hawaii... or that 9/11 was an inside job... or that we didn't land on the moon...

The truth should be harder to escape in this day and age, but instead we've seen that misinformation and conspiracy can travel just as quickly and form a "shield" of like-minded ignorance for those who want community and social acceptance.
