  • Ah, These Canadians

So, my wife is Canadian. We live in Canada right now. So my neighbor sends the following to me in an email.

I have to admit, it did make me laugh!

So yesterday, I attended the quarterly luncheon~feedback event for those who've had joint (hip and/or knee) replacement at the local hospital~surgery center. Over a hundred patients, most from this part of the USA but a few from Canada. Seems the about 18 month wait to see a specialist surgeon and then about another 18 month wait to get the surgery was a bit much for some to endure. Those that had the funds/insurance opted to come across the border to our not so free and not so great healthcare system where their condition could be treated in matter of months, not years.

In a little while, after I finish some paperwork I came into the office to do, I'll stop in at the Kroger "bigbox" I drive by on the way home. This being a weekend, there will be quite a few Canadians shopping there, it's just off the freeway after about a 15-20 minute drive from the border. In the past, when discussing their reasons for shopping down here instead of up there, it usually comes down to more selections and lower prices.

Thanks for the offer, but looks like you all "up North" still have some matter of your own nation and economy to sort out. BTW, the place where a wall is needed is on the Southern border. We enjoy your efforts to legally assist our balance of trade.

      This video made me happy.
      Credo quia absurdum.

Quantum mechanics describes nature as absurd from the point of view of common sense. And yet it fully agrees with experiment. So I hope you can accept nature as She is - absurd! - Richard Feynman

There are lots of private surgical centers in Canada now where there is NO waiting period. Pay the cash, get the surgery, move on with life, just like the USA.
Anyways, the thread was started for the purpose of a adding little levity to NA Forum.

I could make a comment suggesting that this proves that conservatives have no sense of humor, but I won't...

Maybe I could make a comment on how liberals idea of humor usually involves distortions and denigration of those whom don't agree with the fantasia of liberals.

And maybe I could inject some sarcastic levity about the current exchange rate ...
... or how amusing it is to see Canadians finish their shopping trips down here squeezing in a few gerrycans of gasoline(petro) into their all ready jammed trunks/hatchbacks and topping off their vehicle's gas tank before heading make North....
... or how if things are so great in Canada, why aren't most of our @30 million illegal aliens continuing their law-breaking immigration on up into Canada?

Looking over the past seven years of BHO, think our nation has been "Canadized" enough already.

You can say all those things but they don't concern me, since I'm not a liberal. I'm one of those oddballs known as a "moderate". We agree with one side on some issues, agree with the other side on other issues, and think that both sides are full of **** on most.

Yeah, I know a lot of "liberals" whom make the same claims

Well, I'm a life member of the NRA and work in a gunshop, so maybe I am who I say that I am.

Because they don't blend in and they're not into "frigid".
