The more I read up on Sajjan, the more I like him. Kandahar was the place that the Taliban started. Canada launched Operation Medusa there, which was the largest Canadian military operation since the Korean War. Before it launched Sajjan had built relationships with the locals and had them turned and allied against the Taliban. This was something he accidently developed in Bosnia by just helping the Bosnians, once he made friends he found out information that nobody else knew, much sought after information, by accident. That operation, Medusa, captured 1,500 Taliban at the Taliban's very heart, their HQ. Wanna win wars? Then get more guys like this guy.

He surely rocks that beard! Good to see a soldier with boots on the ground experience in such a responsible position.

If he was white he would be an imperialist warmonger but because he is brown and wears a turban he is a warrior king! Trudeau jr., like the lib-hole he is, picked his cabinet braced on skin color or gender or if they’re a homo, so the fact that this guy can do the job must have been a surprise! He most probably will replace by a tranie next year.

What? Moderate Muslims in Afghanistan? NOT killing them all and NOT letting God sort it out?

                        What nonsense is this?

Sikh religion was much influenced by works of Saints and other major religions prevalent at the time of Guru Nanak.

Sikh Gurus stopped the Hindu Practice of Sati, set up community religious kitchens with Sikh Temples to end the Hindu Taboo of rule of cast distinction in drinking water and having food.

A peaceful religion though considered a sect by Majority of Hindus took up arm after being persecuted by Muslim rulers.

They are very loving people with strong community attachment, for any hungry person or destitute person there will be food and comfort waiting for him at any nearby Gurudwara ( Sikh Temple). No question asked and you will find no string attached. You never be encouraged by them to embrace their religion in return for getting charity.

Selfless Service or Sewa as it is called is observance of their religion.

Sikhs had very bitter past with Muslim their main enemies, they had fought countless wars with them.
                          Militarisation of the Sikhs

Sikhism was well established by the time of Guru Arjan, the fifth Guru.

Guru Arjan completed the establishment of Amritsar as the capital of the Sikh world, and compiled the first authorised book of Sikh scripture, the Adi Granth.
However, during Arjan's time Sikhism was seen as a threat by the state and Guru Arjan was eventually executed for his faith in 1606.

The sixth Guru, Hargobind, started to militarise the community so that they would be able to resist any oppression. The Sikhs fought a number of battles to preserve their faith.

The Sikhs then lived in relative peace with the political rulers until the time of the Moghal Emperor, Aurangzeb, who used force to make his subjects accept Islam.

Aurangzeb had the ninth Guru, Tegh Bahadur, arrested and executed in 1675.

Cheers, in 1988, Baltej Singh Dhillo applied to become a Royal Canadian Mounted Policeman, He was accepted but was asked to shave off the beard and remove the turban, which he refused to do. Amid HUGE controversy and protest in Canada for two years, in March 1990 Solicitor General Pierre Cadieux delivered his ruling to allow turban and beard. Dhillon then began police training in Regina and graduated in 1991.

The "turbaned Mountie" is now a symbol of pride for the RCMP

Showing that Canada has better sense when it comes to appointing defense ministers than Americans do.
