  • How about that affordable Health Care ?

People who buy the cheapest health plans on the biggest Obamacare exchange without getting financial assistance are facing the largest increases for premiums and out-of-pocket costs in 2016, new analyses show.

Average prices of the so-called bronze plans on the HealthCare.gov marketplace are rising 11 percent for nonsubsidized customers over 2015 prices. Average deductibles for individuals are increasing by

17.5% on average in Arizona. One of the biggest single year increases in decades.

Arizonans who buy health insurance from the Affordable Care Act marketplace next week will see that the key benchmark plan raises monthly rates 17.5 percent more than twice the national average rate increase, according to figures released Monday by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Experts say that 2016 rates likely will be more realistically priced than those of the first two years of the ACA marketplace because health insurers have a better idea of how often the newly insured consumers are using medical care. Before the marketplace launched in January 2014, health insurers could deny or limit coverage based on a person's health, a major tool to keep costs lower.
Italics mine. Yep, let in those with massive medical expenses and make everyone else subsidize them... Brilliant Fair and Equal, Social and Economic Justice plan from the idiots on the Progressive Left that will ensure healthcare is too expensive and mediocre for everyone but the filthy rich.

Getting good Health insurance in the USA is not a hard thing to do. We live in a great country, and there is alot of misplaced anger toward Obama here on ACG in thread after thread.

Come on guys, this is not just about Obama. There are doctors involved, health insurance companies..it takes two or in this case more then two to tango.

It is/was called ObamaCare for a reason. Without him there is no ACA.

We were tango-ing just fine... now what do Insurance Companies and the individual person do???

They die, which was Obama's plan all along...vengeance against the white oppressors that Jeremy Wright warned him about over and over again.

Do anyone know of anything at all which actually works as it's supposed to under the Anti-American Anti-Christ?

It should have been done so that those who cannot afford it would have basic healthcare provided by the federal government. Those who can or have employer healthcare plans, can opt out. Easy peasy.

How it is set up now, almost everyone in the healthcare exchange is given subsidies to help pay for the monthly premiums. They do not ask if you want the subsidies or not, they ask how much income you make then they calculate it from there. It won't be long before most will become dependent on the subsidies. That will be right about the time when the Republicans will try to take the subsidies away by repealing the ACA. Take a wild guess who will be blamed for not caring about the poor & middle class?

The whole point is you can not give someone with pre-existing conditions cheap health care... no way health insurance companies could cover the expenses. If anything happens to the money the Federal Gov't is GIVING the health insurance companies to cover the difference... it collapses.

It is a endless pit to let someone have cheap insurance rates when they are overweight/drink/smoke... they HAVE to pay a higher rate.

Yeah... I am sure the Feds could control it and make it work .

All the money wasted thus far, if it was put into funding an expanded Medicare program, it might be sufficient to cover the uninsured and pre-existing conditions.

It is interesting to note, that the one area of health care / procedures that is seeing prices not rising like a Saturn V rocket is cosmetic surgery, the only area generally not covered by insurance and not part of Obamacare.

Kind of tells you what the problem is doesn't it?

Sorry dgfred but this whole anti healthcare discussion in the USA is IMO blown out of proportion by the folks who find that Obamas healthcare policies are the end of the world.

The USA offers folks excellent healthcare options, whether its an insurance plan that comes with your employer or a plan that you get on your own.
