This is about a teenage boy who did something he knew would likely cause the school to react in a negative way to. It isn't about his religion or his ethnicity.
He brought a modified electronic device to his school in a container he knew would likely attract attention and then plugged in said device in such a manner that it would do the same.
Why did he have this "clock" in an English class? It couldn't be a class project for that subject. Why plug it in? Why make it tick loudly enough to hear?

Usually the simplest explanation is the right one. He was a teenage @$$hole (as if every teen between 14 and 18 isn't) doing something to push the buttons of authorities. That should have stayed local and Obama should have stayed out of it. An adult President without a streak of bigotry a mile wide would have.

      Exactly.

Wish we could say Taieb is clueless, but it's clear here, as many places, he has an agenda.

You are blatantly making things up to malign the kid. Cab you prove any of this? Because the police certainly couldn't.

No, I'm not. It is clear from the details given in Doc's earlier posts that listed local news reports that this situation is exactly as I described. The police figured it out questioning him. That's why they let him go. It isn't the first time, or the last that police have had to deal with a teenage boy.

As for his being an "engineering student" have you, or anyone else heard of a freshman (9th Grade) high school student being an "engineering student?" Last time I checked US public high schools didn't award diplomas in particular fields. You got a High School Diploma for completion.

All that said, this whole thing has been blown out of all proportion. You have a little jerk teenager being a teenager and nothing more. It should never have gotten statewide, let alone national, attention. But the PC crowd on the Left put "bomb" with "Muslim" and then saw an opportunity to claim "wrongly accused" and it landed this little phleb a visit to the idiot in the White House because he too is a moron of the Left.

Irving PD hasn't arrested the kid's dad for fraud... yet.

So that's a resounding no on the proof part?

Irving ISD student detained for 'suspicious device'

                Jason Whitely, WFAA 12:33 p.m. CDT September 16, 2015

IRVING – A MacArthur High School freshman said school officials overreacted and called police after mistakenly thinking a digital clock he rebuilt looked like a fake bomb.

"They arrested me and told me I committed a crime of a hoax bomb - a fake bomb," he told News 8.

Officers said the clock and wires inside his Vaultz pencil case looked like a hoax bomb to them.

But Ahmed — an engineering student who has won awards for his inventions — said he created the clock over the weekend, and brought it to school to show an engineering teacher on Monday.

"It was the first time I brought an invention to school to show a teacher," he told News 8.

                [...]

                http://www.wfaa.com/story/news/local...bomb/72339246/

If little Ahmed was an "an engineering student who has won awards for his inventions," how could this be "the first time [he] brought an invention to school to show a teacher"/ Note to the perpetually oblivious: This is your first clue that this was a hoax and/or publicity stunt.
According to Irving police, Ahmed's case contained a digital clock that the student had taken apart and rearranged.

Did anyone miss the second clue that this was a hoax and/or publicity stunt?
Police said the student had the briefcase in his English class, where he plugged it into an electrical outlet and it started to make noise.

Ahmed told WFAA that his English teacher confiscated his case. A few hours later, the student said the principal and school resource officer pulled him out of class and questioned the high school freshman.

Do I need to point out the third clue?
Officers said Ahmed was being "passive aggressive" in his answers to their questions, and didn't have a "reasonable answer" as to what he was doing with the case. Investigators said the student told them that it was just a clock that he was messing around with.

"We attempted to question the juvenile about what it was and he would simply only say it was a clock. He didn't offer any explanation as to what it was for, why he created this device, why he brought it to school," said James McLellan, Irving Police.

Police confiscated the case along with Ahmed's tablet computer.

Officers booked Mohamed on having a fake bomb, a Class A misdemeanor. McLellan said the Dallas County District Attorneys office will decide whether there's enough evidence to charge him. He was released to his parents Monday afternoon.

Anyone need help with the fourth clue?

What is so irritating about all this is that the left picks the worst examples to highlight prejudices. I'm sure there are lots of muslim kids that deserve a trip to the white house because they actually represent the best of that ethnicity. There is nothing wrong with fighting prejudices by using the presidential office's prestige if it is done with proper care.

But now we have a hoaxster representing Muslim kids and a thug representing black kids how is that helpful? Both of these ethnicities should be very unhappy with the way the media is presenting them.

I'm pretty sure that this situation is not a coincidence but is a deliberate attempt to get conservatives to use slanderous "racial" terms like hoax and thug.

                    We have;
                    1) a Radio Shack clock radio dismantled and placed into a pencil box (looks like a small brief case), with some "loose wires" on the outside, the whole contraption looking like many a home-made bomb.
                    2) Student takes it to school, but no clear case of a science project or science fair or similar event to bring it for.
                    3) Told by one teacher to put it in his locker, keep it out of the classroom, BUT, he takes it to his next classroom/period and ...
                    4) Plugs it in the wall, where it begins to display a countdown(backwards), which freaks that teacher ...
                    5) School security and local PD decide to err on side of caution and worse case scenario ...
                    6) Boy's father is a local activist engaging in forms of "cultural jihad" ...
                    7) Instead of seeking a meeting with the school board to discuss the situation and "defuse", the parents engage CAIR and the press to create a "media issue" out of the event ....
                    8) Irving, Texas recently in the news because of the mayor blocking local implementation of Sharia Law over secular laws of city, state and Fed in the local Muslim community. ...
                    9) POTUS 'pours gasoline on the fire' in his usual half-informed and ham-fisted style ...

And some would say this is not a planned event, nor some conspired agenda, nor a case of selective media bias, but obviously ...

" ISLAMOPHOBIA " and authorities gone wild and over-reacting.

When hoax, thug and Marxist are treated by the mainstream media as "racist" words, we might as well be living on George Orwell's farm.

A very important and valid point, if it were true.
