  • Sanders Vs. Trump

Is there anybody else out that would love to see these two on a stage going at it in a debate? Regardless of what you think of either of their politics, you've got to admit that it would be extremely entertaining.

    So what do you think?

Disclaimer: I did use Trump's name in the thread title (and again now) and it goes against what I previously stated that I would only use the term "The *******" when referring to him. I figured if I used that term in the thread title it would get deleted.

Part of the exact same phenomenon. In both cases their supporters see their early good showing as 'proof' that the 'time has come' for the ideas they are pushing. When they disappear from the Presidential race these same people will eitehr pretend it hasn't happened or blame someone else - liberal media/corporate media/corrupt system/money/stupid voters/blah blah blah.

You may be right, but for now let us indulge in speculation.

      It would be good TV.

The only way either of these two can win their respective party's nomination is by backing up their populist rhetoric with real-world plans and policy propsals.

If that were to happen (99.99% probability that it won't), Trump could be the next Ronald Reagan and Sanders could become the next Walter Mondale... A dream match-up for non-Marxist American voters...

Yawn. I really wouldn't want to see it. Sanders is a dyed in the wool Socialist and I have no desire to hear his platform as a result knowing it involves more taxes, more government, more government control of the economy, and all the decline in quality of life that will go with it.
Trump is a bombastic, arrogant businessman that in office might do well or might do horribly. We have no way of knowing because he operates like a runaway train. We might get to the next station or we might end up in a train wreck. There's no way of knowing with him.

You are right of course, but I would still like to see these morons debate each other, it would be excellent entertainment.

Lighten up. It's an exercise in what might be.
