You've got third and fourth generation people raised on welfare. Zero job skills, zero job options, zero work-based habits, minimal or no education.

That's what you don't get: these are people who have never worked, likely have never had a family member who was employed. They have parents and grandparents in prison or on parole.

It has surpassed social spending, and become a lifestyle, and a crippling one at that. The amount money going in is in decline; the public housing projects that boomed in the 60s and early 70s during the Great Society have not continued, and the physical structures themselves are failing. There are fewer HUD housing units in 2013 than there were in 1966.

And, as Gix points out, now we're adding illegals to the mix.

Its a bubble, and when it bursts a lot of people are going to suffer terribly; the people who the suffering are going to be the same people on welfare right now. They have it bad now, but it is going to get a whole lot worse in the days to come.

That is why people like me are arguing (and seeing some success, albeit not a lot) to take action to make the 'withdrawl' off welfare a control event rather than a crash.

Because one way or another, it is coming.

What gets me is the planned destruction of good towns. Once the landlords are no longer community members, they'll sell to anyone. Section 8 is highly desirable to these landlords. Then the state takes some of the worst a ghetto has to offer, and starts filling apartments. Deliberately making new ghettos, and killing perfectly good towns with good schools. It's sad.
