In addition you penalize companies caught using illegal labor by charging them the taxes, social security, and back tax penalties for that labor. That labor will be presumed to be at 20% above minimum wage, and all illegal employees will be presumed to be full-time employees for this penalty. That should help in rebuilding the SS trust fund, in addition to creating funding to pay down our deficit.

You want a real example? Filiberto's here in Arizona...

In 1997 this restaurant chain got hit. Over 200 illegals were arrested. The owners and many of the company's management were arrested too. Then the fun began for them.

The company got hit for $1.9 million in fines. Social security hit them for not paying social security tax on workers. The Department of Labor got them for not paying minimum wage. The IRS hit them for back taxes.
Every state and federal agency lined up and made them the engine on a very long train...

All told, the company paid out close to $5 million in penalties, taxes, fines, and the like along with most of the owners getting serious prison time.

I remember watching footage on TV of some of the raids in this one. The locations looked like cockroaches when the lights come on...
