Webb adds a decidedly more conservative option for Democratic voters in a field in which former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton has tacked to the left under criticism from liberal former Maryland governor Martin O’Malley and socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).
    *****Sigh........

He has to be on the ballot first of all. Unless you're in a State with a primary/caucus in the first 5-10 contest you might not get a choice to even vote for him... which is another whole ball of wax.....

Oh, it will NEVER be competitive, I'm resigned to that. However I do like it when they field a candidate intelligent enough to talk on TV and to the Press.

What I want is after the primaries that all TV debates include ANY candidate on 50% of the state ballots, which the Libertarian Party typically does achieve.

The GOP is heading in the same direction, until they realize the Sen Cruz has no chance they will continue to have 2-6 far right wing candidates in the top tier. Which is why i hope with all my heart that Sen Cruz wins the nomination. It takes a bitch slap to realize that you are out of touch.

PS- It would actually be a vote for him, not a vote against someone else.

I'd wish he'd give up on the Dem ticket, he has no chance, and channel into the Libertarian Party. They have no one with any stature at all and Mr Webb's independence would fit in well.....

Former Sen. Jim Webb (D-Va.) has officially entered the race for the Democratic presidential nomination, he announced on his website Thursday afternoon.

Webb, who spent one term in the Senate before retiring in 2013, called for a “fresh approach” to solving the nation’s biggest problems and a leader who can stand up to the “shadow elites [of] our political process” in a statement.
I'd wish he'd give up on the Dem ticket, he has no chance, and channel into the Libertarian Party. They have no one with any stature at all and Mr Webb's independence would fit in well.....
