  • George Pataki for president

Yet another Republican candidate. Does he have a chance?

He's moderate enough that he could theoretically pull off the general election and beat Hillary ... of course we all know about how well such candidates fare in the primaries: they lose because the primaries are dominated by the extreme right wing of the party that fawns over bible thumpers and "no compromise" candidates who want to shut down the Federal government in a temper tantrum when they don't get their way.

The Tea Party has destroyed the GOP with their insistence on uncompromising purity and rigidity. And also by their failure to realize that the demographics of the greater United States do not mirror Iowa, Wyoming, and Oklahoma. They are turning the GOP into a party that has zero appeal outside of the former Confederacy and rural Western states.

^ That and the fact that Pataki is as vacuous as any stereotypical dumb blonde. He's a suit and a haircut, and nothing more.

In that case, he is highly qualified!
