He would have gotten my vote then and now.

I don't agree. He was well-known, but he had no political base.

You really need to cut your teeth on a lesser election before you go for the big times. Rick Perry is a prime example: dynamic state-level politician, does a decent job here as gov, but he was clearly outclassed in the national primaries.

Obama had no "political base" either. An unknown congress creature who did absolutely nothing while in office suddenly is swept into the White House?

Powell could have taken it at the time, just as Eisenhower did in his time, who also had no "political base".

However, if the blacks are actually "begging the GOP for a reason to vote for them", then they are miserably under-informed and totally unaware of the situation in America and the Dems role in creating it.

The only "reason" they need is "they're not the Democrats".

Although he hasn't run for office, Dr. Ben Carson has made significant ranking in some polls. He looks to be one of the brighter GOP candidates for POTUS, and could gain more traction over time.

Accomplished neuro-surgeon, rose from "poverty", Conservative in views and positions, looks to be prime GOP material. Being "Black" might help.

What you have just described would be considered by the dimocrats as the perfect house N****r.

By some at least, which is the main stumbling block of this thread/OP.

Anyone, of any race or ethnicity, whom is looking to politicians/political parties/ "the Guv'mint" for a (more) hand-out isn't going to find much of that about the GOP to give them their vote.

Those looking for opportunity, clear decks to apply their own energies and efforts, incentive, reward proportionate to effective effort, all that "free enterprise"/capitalist schtick, a.k.a. a hand-up, those sorts will find more reason to support the GOP over the DNP. Carson is a classic example (perhaps too small of the demographic) of the sort of "Black" that would vote GOP.

1- I am not going down this Rabbit-Hole, it would be a massive derailment of a thread that I did not even start.

2- the phrasing is interesting , my "thoughts"?
My thoughts are my own, period. Not you nor anyone still living has any right to them.
I will share opinions, something very different and can be modified from day to day as my learning experiences lead me.
Nobody on an anonymous website has any right to anything else at all, for any reason, ever.

Go ahead and start a thread on race in the US, if you want. That's where the question belongs.
You claimed a fellow human to be something, most of my post was inline with your posts itt as well as the topic of this thread which says Blacks are begging Republican Party to give them a reason to vote . I will say I apologize for referring to your views as bigoted and your posts as backwards in my previous post to you, looking back this was inappropriate behavior on my part and something that deters a good conversation.

Wrt your point of how My thoughts are my own, period. Not you nor anyone still living has any right to them.

I was looking for your viewpoint/opinion/etc when I asked for your thoughts on Arabs, Jews, Christian white people and Muslim black people.

You dont have to answer but I would find issue with the fact that itt you have claimed another poster to be something(racist) but when you yourself have simply been asked how you feel about large groups of humans you dodge the question.
