It all matters if the Nevada GOP can control the GOP primary voters. They have a poor record with that. Chances are the Dem will be the former AG, a Statewide elected office. GOP who knows.

    And whether pigs have wings.”

More to the story than most know. Harry is hoping this will get rid of investigations into his illegal doings. That and the 'gym accident' he had (Mafiso types didn't get what they wanted) dirty Hairy wants out while he's still breathing. Be interesting to see who the Mafia puts up to be their next talker.

          Reid is Retiring

Reid backs Schumer to succeed him as leader

WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid is backing New York Sen. Chuck Schumer to succeed him as Democratic leader.

Reid issued his endorsement Friday morning, shortly after announcing he would be retiring next year instead of running for re-election.

Reid spokesman Adam Jentleson says that the choice is up to Senate Democrats, "but Sen. Reid thinks Sen. Schumer has earned it."

            He isn't leaving soon enough.

There have been several high profile Democrats announcing their intent to retire.

I'm hoping we can get a Republican to replace Barbara Boxer in CA. I know, I know...it's virtually impossible but I can't help but hope for it.

Is retire a new way to say "avoid prosecution?"

From the look of his face, given speculations about his dealing with some very shady characters over the past several years, I am wondering if he is telling the truth about having that freak accident in the gym and announcing an early retirement.

Having some "leg breakers" take you to a gym and rough you up for not coughing up qualifies...

Glad to be shut of him. Even if a Dem gets in the loss of seniority will be felt.

Good bye, good riddance, don't let that door hit you in the ass on the way out.

It was that second beating that convinced Harry.

We may be sorry to see Reid go

The thing is Schumer is a smarter, more crafty Dirty Harry Reid. Better in front of the camera, too, not having Reid's Elmer Fudd level of charisma.
