  • Ferguson takes an ugly turn

Two police officers shot outside a station in Ferguson...

    http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/two...LG?ocid=SMSDHP

A few dozen demonstrators fled following the sound of gunfire around midnight with some screaming, "They hit a cop," according to a Reuters photographer at the scene. Police could not be reached immediately for comment.
Seems the real bigots are winning for the moment.

What makes it particularly egregious is the small number of protesters present. It is likely to turn very ugly in the next few days.

Holder and the Democratic Socialist are getting what they want, an ugly race war from the real looking for any excuse to riot.

What is going on in Oklahoma is not much better either in spite of prominent Blacks publicly stating that the University over reacted in their punishment of those involved.

A very disturbing thing, since elsewhere other posters are claiming that law and order would not break down even after a major plague or apocalyptic event, yet here we see it happening after a simple shooting.

              The police chief is resigning.

I just heard on breaking news that they are about to make an arrest for this shooting.

What you need is an armed society of civilians with CC permits. If you had that then none of this would have happened.

(and before my US friends or enemies get upset at this, it's tongue in cheek and aimed solely and squarely at that mouth breathing waste of skin Shooter (!) who jumped into the middle of a thread about the nutjob in Sydney who killed two people with a similar piece of wisdom)

Anyway condolences to the victims and hopefully the turd that did this will accidentally fall down the stair at the cop shop - 57 times.

Holder is smiling I'm sure this morning and Obama may finally get what he has wanted, a race riot.

Even more scary is that the shooting appears to be an ambush scenario from a rifle some distance away. Then, the rioters start with a chant directing violence towards law enforcement.

How to stop future incidents of such behavior? Start arresting those caught on video behaving like that and charge them with accessory to attempted murder and inciting violence.

Of course, that is wishful thinking that any of those so called protestors would ever be arrested and so charged based upon the video evidence. After all, the looters ID on camera have yet to be charged with any crimes at all. A huge class action lawsuit against the state for lack of action to protect private property is pending.

Makes me glad I live a decent distance from Columbia. Stupid college kids can always be counted upon to overreact to things and make asses of themselves. The book Who Hates Whom describes the age group as having "the body of an adult, the mind of a child, no clue where they're going, and in a hurry to get there".
A new life awaits you in the off world colonies; the chance to begin again in a golden land of opportunity and adventure!

Police, other groups try to tamp down tensions in Ferguson

FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) — With measured remarks and a conciliatory tone, police, political leaders and civil-rights activists on Thursday sought to tamp down tensions after two police officers were shot in front of the Ferguson Police Department during a protest.

The officers were quickly released from the hospital, but St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said they could have easily been killed and called the attack "an ambush." Several people were taken in for questioning after a SWAT team converged on a Ferguson home near the shooting site, but they were later released, and no arrests were made.

The shootings marked the first time in more than seven months of tension in Ferguson that officers were shot at a protest, and the bloodshed threatened to inflame the already fraught relationship between police and protesters just as the city seeks reforms in the wake of a withering Justice Department report on racial bias in its law-enforcement practices.

From what I understand, the summary of events in Ferguson goes something like this:

Mike Brown and his friend rob a store. They are pulled over as suspects while walking down the middle of a street. There's an altercation in which Mike Brown tries to grab Darren Wilson's gun, resulting in Mike Brown's death.

Obama sends 3 representatives to Mike Brown's funeral

Local authorities investigate, the grand jury finds no wrong-doing on the part of Wilson.

                            Riots ensue for several days.

The DOJ decides to investigate Wilson's story and also find no wrong doing.

Obama, not being satisfied, investigates the Ferguson PD and finds some racial bias in the department. This is unrelated to Mike Brown's shooting, which was still perfectly legal and appropriate according to local and federal authorities.

Ferguson authorities start to 'resign' in the wake of the DOJ continued pressure. Not being satisfied, for some reason people gather to protest the fact that they are getting what they want.

During this additional pointless protest, two cops get shot.

As far as I'm concerned the two cops who were shot are victims of Obama and Holder as well as the actual shooter. All the protesting has been on behalf of a criminal who was killed while trying to take a cop's gun. The only way this could have been avoided is for Darren Wilson to have just handed his gun to Mike Brown and just let him shoot.

This whole thing is an embarrassing and shameful series of bad decisions starting with sending white house staffers to the funeral of a criminal who was seemingly trying to kill a cop. Thanks Obama! We can add this to Obama's failure-pile (although in order to throw this on the pile we'll need to hire a team of Sherpas to get anywhere near the top).
