The problem, grasshopper, is that you are trying to run before you can walk.

First you must embrace the One Truth: liberals and Democrats are the enemy.

Master that, and you will be ready for the deeper insights.
Any man can hold his place when the bands play and women throw flowers; it is when the enemy presses close and metal shears through the ranks that one can acertain which are soldiers, and which are not.

This is old news for those of us from the NJ-NY area.

The investigation had been on for years. I'm sure it could have dragged on indefinitely.

      It's all about the timing.

Yeah, the probe into Menendez's illegal activities had been going on for years. The timing is the most important key here, however. Once enough evidence had been gathered against him, it's left to the higher powers to determine when it's time to arrest him.

Without more information, I don't know if enough evidence had been uncovered in early years of Menendez probe, so Holder could have him charged at anytime in the past few years. Nonetheless, you can't really argue that the timing is coincidental. It is indeed strange that Menendez is quickly charged hours after he sharply criticized Obama on foreign policy.

Obama administration isn't known for doing anything right in the name of justice. It has covered up countless scandals. But they will go after anyone who dared to criticize their agenda, their mean-spirited vindictiveness is well known. Nobody will believe Menendez was brought down purely for criminal reasons, a cynic like me would chalk it up to political motivations.

if Obama is a crooked politician, then it's likely that everyone who works for him is crooked in some ways and that includes the high level leadership at Justice Department.

The AG does not charge people. The driver of this is the fact that the Federal Grand Jury has wrapped up it process. Grand Juries charge, not the AG.
