  • 'The Theater of the Absurd...'

Thomas Friedman of the New York Times was just quoted on 'Meet the Press' as stating that the continued refusal of the administration to use the terminology of 'Islamic Terrorism', etc., to describe the perpetrators of the terrorism acts now ongoing in Africa, the Middle East, and in Europe as 'the theater of the absurd.'

Right on the money as far as I'm concerned.

    Sincerely,
    M
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts
Made weak by time and fate but strong in will
To strive to seek to find and not to yield.

When the KKK burns a cross or kills someone, is that an act of Christian Terror? After all, they claim to be Christian.

Took him long enough. That inability to label one's enemy as such has afflicted the Obama administration from day one.

Your just jealous that they haven't given you or MM a label.

I've been given lots of labels, many of them by you.

The Klan is largely a powerless group. Islam, on the other hand, feels powerful enough to issue this decree:

Pakistan Muslim leader says Muhammad cartoons could lead to World War III, calls on UN to outlaw blasphemy

ISLAMABAD / LAHORE / FAISALABAD / QUETTA / HYDERABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq has said the west’s ‘extremist standpoint’ on blasphemous caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) may lead to a third world war.

“The path that the West has chosen will take the world to a third world war,” Siraj said on Friday.

He was addressing thousands of people at a rally, organised to protest against the insulting caricatures published in Western publications, particularly French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

The JI chief demanded that the United Nations make laws to discourage blasphemy of all religious personalities. He said France must apologise for hurting sentiments of billions of Muslims across the world.

You know, maybe a third world war would solve this whole mess once and for all.

Yes it is. And The State, not to mention whatever religious leadership, comes down on them hard too. Somewhat different than Islamic State sponsored terrorism.

If The Religion could separate itself from A Nation State, probably not. But if The Religion continues to see itself as A Nation State, then The Religion is going to suffer much as a Nation State does when it courts war and loses.

Even when the KKK was a big deal in some parts Christian churches did not align themselves with them and were denounced by the pulpit commonly, unlike what is occurring today in mosques.

Yes, it is, and a hate crime as well. However, we're talking about Islamic terrorism and Obie's refusal to use the words, right?
