i DON'T KNOW WHERE YOU DIG THESE CRAZIES UP- but I'n not going to play the game of proving that they do not represent anything, or anyone in the energy equation.
Oh well- another thread ranted down the tubes.

The point Snowshoveler is making is that a big part of the Green movement is Leftist and using it not so much to improve or protect the environment as to push forward a Leftist agenda of Socialism, Communism, and Social and Economic Justice as those terms are understood by the radical Left.

Yep Greta has been trained to say the exact same thing the green agenda is about socialism anything less is considered a failure to them

Fair enough - but who is "Zack Kanter?'

Sure, I guess. In the same way that many climate change deniers are often motivated more by fear of threat to their free market ideology. The key people behind the campaigns to deny tobacco was harmful, or acid rain, or ozone depletion didn't care one whit about any of those issues. They simply wanted to fight government regulation.

We can speculate about the motivations behind peoples opinions, if we want. What does that matter if the science is the science?

He's not "regreening" a desert, but a landscape that was poorly managed. Different thing. What he proposes wouldn't work here:

What the Chinese did was a combination of soil management and replanting that brought a landscape back. Rain wasn't an issue. If you have no rain, no flowing water, and the "soil" is nothing but shifting sand, you aren't going to "regreen" that.

Also, the best way to avoid the landscape being eaten up by poor agricultural methods is to lift people out of poverty and give them a reasonable shot at a decent education. It's poor, often desperate, stupid people that create these eco-disasters. Brazil is the same way. The Amazon rainforest isn't threatened by large corporations mining or doing managed logging. They want to extract the minerals or wood and would prefer to not have protesters whining about it. Logging companies want to stay in business so they log responsibly.

Who doesn't? The poor peasant sort that does slash and burn agriculture for subsistence, or illegally logs for the cash they can get from unethical buyers. They're like an army of ants eating everything in their path.

But, that narrative doesn't go down well with the Leftist environmental bunch. For them, the poor, stupid, dispossessed, etc., are their bread and butter. So they ignore reality and attack big corporations who they hate.

Those of us who don’t believe the man made climate change scare don’t take it seriously because they still haven’t proven that carbon dioxide warms up the climate it’s only a theory that pays scientists well who promote that theory to governments using it to scare up support for political gain
And most importantly everything they’ve predicted about what the climate will do in the future has always been 100% wrong you’d have to be a gullible fool and or have an ulterior motive like pushing far left policies to know that and still believe that they’ll be right this time
The climate is always going to change no matter what we do we need to learn how to be able to adapt to the changes instead of feebly arrogantly trying to force the climate to do what we want it to do

I'm waiting for an example of a "well paid" scientist.

I'm not going to engage in a debate about the science of climate change. You can't reason someone out of an opinion they didn't reason themselves into in the first place. But I'm fascinated at the mental fluidity and control of facial muscles necessary in order to concoct a conspiracy theory where thousandaire scientists take down a trillion dollar industry led by billionaires and millionaires.

                          Cui bono?

Only climate scientists aren’t corrupted and influenced by the vast funding for their research by governments that want people to believe in pseudo science theories!
They’re always wrong it is not smart and intelligent to continue to believe anything they predict

It is the brainwashing that is common in the public that scientists doesn't make mistakes, that they don't have agendas, that they don't have emotional axes to grind.

They have all the faults the rest of us have.

                              But.

Their propaganda has brainwashed the general public into believing that they are somehow above those kind of things....which they are not.

The political agenda has dictated that man (more so the white man, the focus is always on the white man) is responsible for climate change, and THAT is what scientists (who are given a platform) will continuously argue, together with leftard politicians and various activists.

Climate scientists manipulates the truth to make things what they want it to be (in this case fit the current narrative and agenda) thus they have have ZERO regard for the actual truth itself.

                              So....
Climate change is, according to them, caused by sexist white males, the patriarchy, abusive racist white men,and also caused by inequality and general like misogyny.

Greta also says so....It must therefore be true.

I guess insurance companies don't get memes.
