      Bill,
Click on the URL that are underlined in my posts.
BTW, your "source" and "backing up" are sparse in both quantity and content.

      • Obama trashes Americans again – this time over global warming

        ....
The former president was speaking with author Dave Eggers at the Obama Foundation Summit in Chicago Monday when he gave his scathing assessment of Americans.

“Right now I could take off-the-shelf existing technologies,” he claimed, “we could reduce carbon emissions by, let’s say, thirty percent, without any, you know, it’s not like we’d all have to back to caves and you know, live off, you know fire.”

“We could have electricity and smartphones, and all that stuff,” he said.”Um, which would buy us probably another 20, 30 years, for that technological breakthrough that’s necessary.”

“The reason we don’t do it is because we are still confused, blind, shrouded with hate, anger, racism, mommy issues,” he added to laughter from the audience. “Yeah, I mean, we are fraught with stuff.”

“And so, if that’s the case,” he continued,”then the single most important thing we have to invest in, is not, all, and look I’m a huge supporter in science, and technological research, and social science, and evidence-based learning, all that good stuff, I’m, people call me Spock for a reason.”

College days spent pot smoking and few if any science classes sure makes him an expert. "Spock" ??? --- hubris!

        • Obama is at least as qualified to speak on this as AlGore, who got a D in Astronomy in college... As for Obama being called "Spock" when it comes to science... I'd call him "Schumck."

As for living off, "you know, fire..." I think most people do that right now. They're called stoves. Most people use one to cook their food...

          Obama = idiot.

              • Our Changing Climate

Global climate is changing. Most of the warming of the past half-century is due to human activities. Some types of extreme weather are increasing, ice is melting on land and sea, and sea level is rising.

The question on the table isn't IF climate change is happening but WHY. The argument here is between those convinced it is anthropogenic, that is man-made, or if it is naturally occurring.

My view is that the bulk of it is naturally occurring and that any contribution man is making to it is minor and not being caused in any large part by CO2 production.

Deniers will not like its findings.

                    • There is no denying that Progressive policies in California resulted in the conditions that allowed the fires, mostly in the brush lands, to explode into raging firestorms thus adding millions of tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.

Forcing the human race to go extinct will do little to reduce CO2 emissions when the number one contributor of CO2 in Nature is termites, decay of organic matter in wetlands, and volcanic activity.

So, why has it actually been colder so many past Summers in Michigan instead of being year after year of the Summer of 1988 when we had so many days in the upper 90sF?

It's plain and simple. It is all about panicking the public so they will be willing to trade their freedom and independence for the false security of Socialism. And, if you want to educate yourself just how environmental friendly a Socialist State is, check out what the Soviets did to one of the largest freshwater lakes in the world.

Read it. It is largely an alarmist crock of.... Well, you know. It is chock full of every if in the universe to make the resulting report sound as bad as possible. Many of the findings are based on assumptions without actual data, or very scant data.

I also found it took the normal, politically correct, tact on everything. CO2 is the cause of warming. Nothing else is mentioned. No alternate possible or potential cause is discussed. Why is that? My opinion would be that's because the authors of the report are reciting their preferred dogma on the subject and at the same time denying any and all alternatives because that would clash with their dogmatic belief system.

Objective and rational people should find the report disturbing in how political it is, rather than working on the basis of good science.

Just curious. What other fields of science do you deny?

Is this the only field of science you deny or are there others?

^ Key points constantly missed, over-looked, or beyond the grasp of most proponents of ACC/AGW like Bill Shack above. They repeat the same mantras and present the same unfounded concepts, doing that A. Einstein thing.

One key point continually overlooked is that at 300ppm(dry) Earth barely has enough CO2 for Flora/plants to start to thrive. 400ppm(dry) barely exceeds that minimum threshold. Also, 400ppm is a ration of 1/2500 of all the nitrogen, oxygen, argon, and other components of the atmosphere and so far no science demonstrates how the slight longwave "heat" retained by the one elevates the temperature of the other 2,499.

Another reason not to rush and try fixing something that 1) may not be broke, and 2) we understand so little of to know how it works, let alone how to safely manipulate, it's too soon for "solutions" that might make situation worse. The following gives a clue there where past reductions of CO2 levels reduced flora biomass with adverse consequences to many Fauna species .... Humans didn't cause mass animal extinctions in Africa, like previously thought, study says

                                ....
"Low CO2 levels favor tropical grasses over trees, and as a consequence savannas became less woody and more open through time," John Rowan, a postdoctoral scientist from the University of Massachusetts Amherst who was involved in the research, said in a statement. "We know that many of the extinct megaherbivores fed on woody vegetation, so they seem to disappear alongside their food source."
