    • This was in the article:

Nuclear power, despite the recent tragedy at Three Mile Island, should be expanded.
How was TMI a "tragedy?" Nobody died in that accident. Nobody's going to get cancer as a result. Sure, the melted down reactor is an expensive mess to clean up, but tragic? Here's another dolt that doesn't have a clue.

I read it. It almost single sources it's information and relies heavily on James "Hockey Stick" Hanson's work and words. Hanson is discredited due to the sort of academic shenanigans common when you have an agenda and can't get the data to cooperate.

It is always that hot EVERY YEAR AT THIS TIME in Death Valley. That is how it was given its name by the early pioneers that made the fatal mistake of crossing it during the torrid summer months.

          Meanwhile,

The weather forecast here for the next several days is for nice comfortable days with cool to cold nights. There is also complaints that the lake levels are now too high again which results in no beaches and the threat of flooding along the shoreline in Saginaw Bay when we get sustained high Northeast winds.

Unplugged, buried under the last sand storm.

Arizona didn't get that name out of thin air, which you seem to breath in volume. In a part of Northern Mexico houses were built with those temps in mind. Not so in much of Europe.

Yet no proof this is caused solely or even largely by human activity of the past centuries.
Also, the linkage to CO2 levels has yet to be proven (or tested in the lab). 400ppm works out to ratio of 1/2500 so have yet to see any proof that any heat (which part of EM spectrum?) retained by CO2 is passed on to the other 2,499 parts of DRY atmosphere. Water vapor content still remains the main and primary "greenhouse gas" which is not being properly factored in.

Meanwhile you'd rather be moving toward an Ice Age?

Have you done your part to abate ACC/AGW by stopping to respirate CO2?

Except it and what do you lose? Deny it and what do you win, IF the climate change is true.

Now to your challenge. You lost already. I drive a car that get's 45+ mpg. Recycle EVERYTHING and don't drive across town to my favorite restaurant. Of course maybe do to age I don't even want to go far now days. Three hour drive is a long trip where it used to be that may butt was just getting comfortable for the next 12 or so hours.

An NO I don't care for the cold or the next ice age. It well come, if it comes in do time. I won't be here to worry about it.

Are we over using the resources of the planet all ready? Are we polluting our oceans? Is Coal Fired heating a plus or a negative for the US and the World as a whole

Now back to the next Ice Age. The way we humans are going there isn't going to be any of us left to write about it.

                    • Cheer up, Deutschland

The biggest risk to Germany is excessive pessimism
                      ....
A VISITOR to Germany this summer will find a country living well. Gentle chit-chat and the clink of glasses murmur from sun-dappled beer gardens. Barges laden with exports chug up the Rhine. Prosperous vacationers travel to lakes and seaside resorts in new cars and slick, reliable trains. Yet striking up a conversation with one of these seemingly contented locals, the traveller may well be told that the country is going to the dogs. The discussion might begin with disconsolate reflections on the national team’s dismal performance in the football World Cup, then find its way on to the storm clouds over German industry, political instability and perhaps the difficulties of integrating the many migrants who have arrived in recent years. Are they really talking about the same country?

Pessimism comes easily to Germans. Gloom stalked their literature even before the traumas of the 20th century. “Simplicius Simplicissimus,” the first great German novel, describes a peasant wandering the devastated Holy Roman Empire after the Thirty Years War; Goethe and his contemporaries imagined love-struck romantics killing themselves in dark forests; Wagner’s Ring Cycle ends with Valhalla in flames. Few Germans ever quite believe that calamity is not just around the corner, reckons John Kornblum, a former American ambassador. He relays a tale of a woman who came up to him in the street unbidden and warned him that he would trip over and die if he failed to tie his shoelace.

                      • Why not do the "easy" fix first? We now know for sure that jet aircraft contrails have an effect on the climate and cause warming. How much is debatable. We know the northern hemisphere is largely blanketed in a fog of these contrails on a near daily basis.
The fix for that is to have aircraft fly at altitudes that don't create contrails or to re-route them around areas that contrails are forming in. The fix is simple and one known cause of anthropogenic climate change is eliminated or seriously reduced. Cheap, easy, and quickly implemented.

Yet, this isn't being seriously discussed. Instead we get the same drivel about CO2 and the need for solar and wind (that can't supply the necessary power) , battery cars nobody wants and won't work in many areas, and other very expensive and hard to implement solutions to a problem that might not even be a problem.

I want to know why the Greenies and Gorebal Warming loons won't call for implementing a plan to eliminate contrails. I personally think it's because their real agenda isn't so much fixing the climate as it is altering human lifestyles and energy consumption to something that requires far more Socialism in it.

                        • Failed Prognostications of Climate Alarm
                          ...
It has been 30 years since the alarm bell was sounded for manmade global warming caused by modern industrial society. And predictions made on that day—and ever since—continue to be falsified in the real world.

The predictions made by climate scientist James Hansen and Michael Oppenheimer back in 1988—and reported as model projected by journalist Philip Shabecoff—constitute yet another exaggerated Malthusian scare, joining those of the population bomb (Paul Ehrlich), resource exhaustion (Club of Rome), Peak Oil (M. King Hubbert), and global cooling (John Holdren).

                          Erroneous Predictive Scares

Consider the opening global warming salvo (quoted above). Dire predictions of global warming and sea-level rise are well on their way to being falsified—and by a lot, not a little. Meanwhile, a CO2-led global greening has occurred, and climate-related deaths have plummeted as industrialization and prosperity have overcome statism in many areas of the world.

Take the mid-point of the above’s predicted warming, six degrees. At the thirty-year mark, how is it looking? The increase is about one degree—and largely holding (the much-discussed “pause” or “warming hiatus”). And remember, the world has naturally warmed since the end of the Little Ice Age to the present, a good thing if climate economists are to be believed.

Turning to sea-level rise, the exaggeration appears greater. Both before and after the 1980s, decadal sea-level rise has been a few inches. And it has not been appreciably accelerating. “The rate of sea level rise during the period ~1925–1960 is as large as the rate of sea level rise the past few decades, noted climate scientist Judith Curry. “Human emissions of CO2 mostly grew after 1950; so, humans don’t seem to be to blame for the early 20th century sea level rise, nor for the sea level rise in the 19th and late 18th centuries.”

Dude, it is summer and they can be a bit warm in the Northern hemisphere, get back to me in January or February.
Issue isn't if the "climate change" is happening, as many of us point out, it is always changing and larger concern is if warming away from an Ice Age or cooling towards one. In context of the link in my above post, the underscore is where a Natural cycle that predates humans applies versus how much, IF ANY, is due to human activity. Case so far suggests little to no human factor in play, in spirit of don't fix what isn't broken, maybe we shouldn't mess with Mother Nature anymore than already little that has been done.

If you really think slight increase of CO2 is the cause, then stop making any.
