This reminds me of the occasional kerfluffle in Brazil about "Secret U.S. bases in the Amazon". Sometimes, people just make this stuff up.

      Why not?
What military assets does Holland have there?
Does Venezuela have much to fear from the mighty and technologically advanced Dutch military?

How good is your math today? Better than usual? Ah, 1+1 is sometimes 2. Very good.

Aruba gets attacked, it belongs to the Dutch, the NL belong to NATO. How is your math holding out?

Even without NATO, we wouldn't tolerate Hugo attacking Aruba. I know my mom wouldn't tolerate it!

What military assets does Holland have in Aruba? The USN, USMC, USAF, and the US Army, not necessarily in that particular order.

Hugo is a nut case and he is in our back yard. Not just a nut case but dangerous as well. I put no act of stupidity past him.

I see that reliance on the US when it comes to military matters is still en' vogue in Europe, even by the people that bad-mouth us at every opportunity on every subject in the book.

How many Dutch troops in combat posts in Iraq or A-stan, btw?

And here we have the arguments from the Europeans themselves-

They are fine without us, or so they say, and the world does not need the US for a Policeman.

Look who he had for a coach: The guy who tried dragging the USSR into his fight with us.
