  • Venezuelan Death Squads

The Venezuelan government is sending out death squads to kill young men in order to weaken the opposition to the Maduro government according to a UN report.
Unless thereís significant defections in the military or some outside military intervention happens Maduro and his party wonít ever give up their power.

Ah, the normal response by a brutal dictatorship to internal opposition... How usual.

These situations often see both sides reaching out to the world saying its the other side that is the problem. The USA needs to act carefully here, from the getgo we should have been looking into this issue with a totally non bias approach and keep in mind Maduro has a lot of support in Venezuela. The situation reminds of Saddam Hussein, good Iraqis liked Hussein and those same Iraqis totally abhor ISIL and similar minded groups. People can not take away real world expericnes, No Iraqi can tell an American whom loves Trump that they are wrong, no American can tell an Iraqi whom had a good life under Saddam that they are wrong.

This is not like the US is dealing with AQ, the KKK, The Third Reich, ISIL. Maduro and his gov are in a different category.

Where is the opposition btw, are the so called opposition leaders safe in the USA or UK while they complain about Maduro from safety and expect poor people to do the real work? So this type of situation will see locals in Venezuela saying well about the so called opposition, why are the leaders of the opposition not leading militias?

Imagine if a Politician or some group in the US tried to overthrow the POTUS... and foreign Gov and news reports were weighing in on the topic. Folks please always remember there are two sides to a story in these situations.

But not all of the Venezuelan military wants Maduro gone, otherwise he would surely be gone

What of the mass pro Maduro protests btw ? I have seen masses of people supporting Maduro on the streets of Venezuela. There are huge numbers of Venezuelan people that want Maduro. Just imagine if a politician in the USA tried to form a so called opposition movement to overthrow the POTUS and establish a Gov with more friendly ties to nations that otherwise did not have such friendly ties.

Only God knows if Maduro is a bad guy. Because both sides are blaming each other wrt this situation in Venezuela. I know this much, Maduro is not a OBL or Hitler type figure.

Finally what if Maduro does get removed, will that truly be a good thing. How would we possibly know if a non Maduro party takes over Venezuela that things will get better, what if they get worse? These are very important factors to consider wrt how the US gov talks about the situation in Venezuela.

The poll is clear they donít want him in office.
Do you understand what purge means?

I understand fully that huge masses of Venezuelan people support Maduro, the man is clearly supported by many of his people while there is an opposition at the same time. Im sure if you have followed the situation you have seen the pro Maduro rallies.

You know polls, remember all those polls claiming would Trump would lose the election in 2016..Partner we cant always rely on polls. And are these American polls or British polls? What about Russian or Iranian polls on Maduro I wonder what they have to say?

Only God knows what is going on in Venezuela, whether or not Maduro or the opposition or neither are the good side.

Here is the biggest issue to consider. What happens if Maduro is ousted , will the new party be better or worse? Thats why the US, and all nations should carefully consider the situation in Venezuela and not make knee jerk reactions.

Your wrong because your not responding to the issue but instead complaining.. You cant talk to people like you do above. Maduro is liked by many of his people. And you have not said what you think will happen if Maduro is overthrown. The fact that Maduro clearly still has support of the military. And btw how would one react if an opposition politician in the US wanted to overthrow the POTUS?

We were discussing death squads and how successful they can be. Why are you changing the subject?

The Death Squads did not keep Fugimoto in power. If they had been successful, Fujimoto would not have resigned.

This is not a matter of debate. Its a fact many in Venezuela support Maduro. Thats the issue, and you apparently dont want to talk about that.

I support the Venezuelans the vast majority want him gone because heís an extremely corrupt illegitimate far Left President that kills opposition members almost at will which you seem to have no problem with, lots of countries like Canada and the US support the Venezuelans by recognizing the opposition as the legitimate government.
