Okay... Pro rallies: (I tried to make these all 2019 or late 2018 pictures)

Captioned "Thousands rally in support of Maduro"

Another Pro-Maduro rally. Note, about a third to half the participants are military

    September 2018

    Early 2019 protest

This February 2019 protest had an estimated 800,000 people in the streets:

    March 2019

Given that Maduro can better organize rallies for him, and even bus in the military, people from all over the country, etc., the protest rallies are outsizing his orchestrated ones by a significant margin. Maduro has obliquely noted this by calling on supporters to rally and outside the "minor opposition."

I'd say he's the typical dictator losing his grip on power and he knows it.

None of these pro-Maduros should receive help from the Red Cross.
If everything is that good in Venezuela, why are the rats leaving the sinking ship ?
And, the rats are coresponsible for the sinking of the ship : they voted for Chavez and Maduro and now they demand $ from the bad Yankees : they can go to hell .I hope that Maduro remains so that the situation will become worse .

      • Red Cross should help regardless of political affiliations. Nobody is asking $ from Yankees. The problem is that Facsist US government want a coup in Venezuela and turn it into a colony.

        • If Maduro would allow an open and fair election (which he will never, ever do), he'd be tossed out of office and this nonsense would end along with most of Venezuela's socialism. But, Maduro is a dictator and will not relinquish power except by force.

          • He was reelected not long ago. Guaido on his side failed to achieve something.

                      • The cheating was pretty open and definitely widespread. For example:

Falcon, a former member of the Socialist Party who went over to the opposition in 2010, said he was outraged at the government's placing of nearly 13,000 pro-government stands called "red spots" close to polling stations nationwide.

Mainly poor Venezuelans were asked to scan state-issued "fatherland cards" at red tents after voting in hope of receiving a "prize" promised by Maduro, which opponents said was akin to vote-buying.

The "fatherland cards" are required to receive benefits including food boxes and money transfers."

He's correct, it is a form of vote buying.

Here's a list of fraudulent tactics used by Maduro:

"Assisted voting:" A government / Maduro operative would go with the voter into the polling booth to watch them vote.

Operation Drag: Use of armed police and the military to force voters to the polls where they would be watched while voting

Denial of voting by overseas (assumed to be anti-Maduro) Venezuelans at embassies.

Foot dragging and not responding to opposition complaints about fraud

Not regularly calling elections but rather when the government wants one.

For the 2018 election, that's a map by country of who recognizes and doesn't recognize the results.

Red = Doesn't recognize the election results as legitimate
Green = Recognizes the election results as legitimate

It's pretty clear that there was considerable fraud. That less than 50% of the population turned out, and it could be as low as about 35% turned out. On the whole, considering everything, Maduro held a rigged election and is illegitimately retaining power.

Nice Tu Quoque fallacy. Here's the original version:

It's the rebuttal of a six year old.

(What's allowed the gods isn't allowed to the lowly... more or less)

What does that have to do with anything, other than present another tu quoque fallacy?

The discussion was on elections in Venezuela. Whatever the case with elections elsewhere, that doesn't change one iota that elections in Venezuela have become massively fraudulent. Deflecting by saying essentially "Well, what about...?" is absolutely a classic Tu Quoque (You too) fallacy.
