how would an unarmed population remove him if they wanted him gone?

if he has so much support why did approximately 10% of the Venezuelan population flee to other countries?
before long youíll be right because all the people who donít support him will be either dead from starvation, or have fled the country.

what was once a nation of 30million people will soon likely be a nation of maybe 17 million.

        • If Venezuela wasn't fouled up like a soup sandwich with corruption, incompetence, and slavish bootlicking to Maduro the Tocoma Dam project might be finished instead of being one mass of a cluster F***. This dam project would give the Venezuelan grid more flexibility to meet demand and some redundancy it doesn't have currently.

But, corruption, graft, and ineptitude rule the project. It was supposed to be completed in 2015, but is still incomplete today.

            • Rubio is a usual idiot talking head. Decisions are made by other people.
Meanwhile, Russia has reportedly sent cyber security specialists to Venezuela to oppose possible USA cyber attacks:

Lmao, I canít believe you still blame the US for black outs that have been happening and getting worse for years.

                • As I said, I don't exactly blame them, I'm just finding this hypothesis highly likely. Reasons explained above.

Thereís a possibility the US shut down the power the last few times but the more likely answer is that the Venezuelans government incompetence is whatís responsible since itís happened many times before.
Theyíre the authors of their own demise the US can wait while Maduro destroys the infrastructure and country through incompetence and corruption without doing too much.

Well, there have been three new black outs since the one that lasted days. These too are blamed on the poor condition of the Venezuelan grid...

So, Maduro's solution? Ration electricity too.

Eh, no. Venezuela's problem is not "incompetence" but a lack of money. They have a lack of money because their oil export is record low:
                          https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...falling-output
And the export is record low largely because of sanctions imposed by US:
                          https://www.reuters.com/article/us-v...-idUSKCN1QH2O6
Simply put USA is one of the authors of their demise who strangles the Venezuela's economy to effect regime change.

Years of mismanagement by nationalizing the oil industry and putting incompetent corrupt political hacks in charge to run it are the reason why their oil output has dropped to less then half of what it was at itís peak before the US put sanctions on Venezuela.
The sanctions set this year hurt them but they had already shot themselves in the foot that have lead to most Venezuelans wanting Maduro gone.

You realize the first sanctions during the Maduro presidency occurred against only 7 people right? In 2015.
so are you claiming sanctions against 7 people destroyed the Venezuelan economy in less than 2 years?
Creating an economy that weak is negligence and incompetence...

as has been pointed out previously, the Venezuelan grid has been neglected for many years...

not to mention building an economy around a round a single industry is incompetent and neglectful, especially if that industry is a fossil fuel that much of the world is trying to shift away from using as much....meaning their economic collapse was inevitable.

Nothing to eat, no utilities, people being rounded up and disappearing, but lots and lots of high=tech weaponry costing billions of dollars.... well well, what does this remind you of?
