  • Oliver North - It's been 25 Years

This past July marked the 25th anniversary that Ollie sold weapons to Iran to assist in funding the rebels fighting Nicaragua’s Socialist government.

Presumably, home to her husband. A lot charges can be levied against Oliver North, but he was an honorable man of high personal standards. Apparently higher than certain occupants of the Oval Office and congressional office space.

Perhaps a better understanding of the whole affair can help answer that question. I personally have no issue with Lt. Col. North. The following site provides some insight that may answer questions as to why he did what he did.

Anyone that does anything can justify what they do.
I didn't care much for Mr. North anymore than I did Mr. Reagan, and Mr. Nixon.

Presumably, he was honoring that part of his oath which obliges him to follow the lawful orders of those appointed over him. He had an entire mob of officials telling him that it was legal and necessary. Had he been trained in the law, perhaps he would protested. But it's just as likely that those who chose him for the position also judged that he would never question them.

25 years gone by and the Obama Justice Department is illegally selling weapons to Mexican cartels. So they can kill american citizens. Hmmm...I think Ollie's effort was a bit more honorable.
