I know we can do, just disappear people like the Chinese do, have everyone monitored by the state and give each a social credit score, make sure there are no crimes against the "people". Oh wait that is what we are already doing in Britain with hate "crimes". Ah the socialist paradise, what people don't know can't hurt them.

Where the "left" has a patent on the world ending soon because of environment and climate, the "right" is equally convinced that civilization is coming to an end because of socialism, marxism and communism.
        Talk about nihilism.

Guess what, we're still alive, doing well, and we can say whatever we like.

The world is filled with doomsday preachers, and we're all going to be punished for our sins.

The story of the past 4000 years.

One name to remember today. Constable David Whyte from Police Scotland. First on scene to the multiple stabbing incident in Glasgow.
Without a second thought putting himself directly in harms way, unarmed, trying to stop the threat and protect the public. It is believed he was stabbed several times and is in critical but stable condition in hospital.

            Hope he makes it.

A great example of a police officer doing his job bravely and selflessly.
If there was a god I'd say a prayer for him.

The problem is that not all the police officers act like that. Those who do tend to be respected however those who do not tend to be the 'bad apples'. And you need weed the bad apples out. What should be remembered is what is stated quite fittingly here: https://abcnews.go.com/US/bad-apples...ry?id=71201096

Throughout the 19th century, a version of the original was frequently used in Sunday sermons: "As one bad apple spoils the others, so you must show no quarter to sin or sinners."

Latest update is that the turd in human form was tasered which didn't stop him.
The report doesn't say whether the initial tasering was Constable Whyte's doing, or the first response of the armed officers, before they administered the terminal dose of lead poisoning.

                  Hi Rutger

Fully support your right to say whatever you like, but its also important to know that there are consequences at times for those words and actions.
Society is built upon rules and guidelines, and many are far from any personal ideal we may hold. However, society often through Political, Judicial and Religious lenses advocates boundaries for us to operate in. At times individuals or segments of society will feel they have to ignore those boundaries through frustration or anger to achieve whatever their aim is. Society in response will either impose those boundaries, re-write them or allow them to expand. The consequences, good or bad will still be there for us all to be judged by.

In terms of doing well, well I guess that comes down to your own individual circumstance(s) or of those close to you on the whole. I imagine there are whole swathes of almost every country on the planet who aren't doing well, in fact the polar opposite.

                  Regards

                  Andy H

                    Rather than start another thread, placing here since this is closest one on crime and police actions;

Dutch police arrest 6 men, uncover makeshift torture chamber

                    EXCERPT:
                    ...
THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — Dutch police arrested six men after discovering sea containers that had been converted into a makeshift prison and sound-proofed “torture chamber” complete with a dentist’s chair, tools including pliers and scalpels and handcuffs, a high ranking officer announced Tuesday.

Authorities said police conducted the raid before the torture chamber could be used and alerted potential victims, who went into hiding.

The grisly discovery was made last month by officers investigating leads generated by data from encrypted phones used by criminals. The communications network was cracked recently by French police. Detectives in Britain and the Netherlands have already arrested hundreds of suspects based on the encrypted messages.

I bet that cop laying in the hospital has a different opinion right now.
