  • What's Going On With EURO and Google?

I caught the tail-end of a newscast this morning talking about the EURO and a major court case involving the EURO's right to control what Google can and cannot allow, to extend throughout Google including America, essentially censorship at the discretion of the EURO. The EURO Supreme Court apparently halted the attempt to pass the law, but it raises some serious issues regarding who controls search engines and the internet.

I've tried to locate more but without any luck.

Can any of our European members enlighten us?

    Ok, there you go:

I'm sure there will be other links.

Seems like the system is working.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm not familiar with the Guardian but I should have thought of it.

Frankly, I'm not in favor of revisionist history in any form, particularly where politicians and other public figures are concerned. There is already waaay too much cover-up going on.

What are the feelings about this where you are?

I can't remember any exposure on the subject, though there must have been some. Brexit is a whole lot more on the front pages.
With the internet your teenage sin will haunt you for the rest of your life, there's no "let bygones be bygones".
Well, the court was right of course.

From what I've seen about certain politicians and public figures, those "sins" haunt them a lot, too.

They should better ban Google in EU.

Belgian press ran a number of articles on the subject :

Ultimately the Eu court defers the decision in each individual case to the national courts though.

Het is volgens het EU-Hof aan de nationale rechters om te oordelen of Google daarin voldoende stappen zet.
