  • Shift to the Right in Poland: Germay appalled by Poland's new government

Night Action: Military Gendarmerie arrest's chief of NATO espionage center:

The public broadcaster TVP Info reported on the other hand, citing unnamed sources, there is a suspicion of spying for the United States. A confirmation there was not initially.

The policy of the Conservative leadership in Warsaw outraged by SPIEGEL information the federal German government. The "worst fears" would be confirmed, according to Berlin - one feels Hungarian Prime Minister Orbán reminded.

This is connected with a number of moves recently made by the new Polish government in an effort to ensure it has people who reflect its interests in the secret services and intelligence departments and in the constitutional court.

Meanwhile, the Soros-connected press has lost no time labelling the new Polish government "totalitarian", citing comments made by the Soros-connected Open Society-funded Polish academics Stanislaw Mocek and Kazimierz Kik.
....the highly contested moves by the eurosceptic Law and Justice (PiS) party are examples of a “totalitarian democracy where those who have the majority are always right”. This is according to political scientist Stanislaw Mocek of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
    ...
In an interview with AFP, political scientist Kazimierz Kik, from Jan Kochanowski University in the central city of Kielce, said: The “PiS action doesn’t break the law but it creates the risk that the secret services will be used for political purposes in a country where the services already play too great a role in public life”.
    http://neurope.eu/article/polands-ne...an-government/

Interestingly enough, the Soros-connected NewEurope article left out Kik's other comment that the PiS is doing nothing novel, and has only been pursuing political moves already pursued by Poland's liberals when they were in power:
Political scientist Kazimierz Kik, from Jan Kochanowski University in the central city of Kielce, said the PiS was "masterfully using techniques already used by previous governments, including the liberals -- rejecting compromise and showing contempt for the opposition."

It should also be noted that the outgoing pro-European government tried stacking the constitutional court just prior to the recent election which it knew it would lose. Apparently, it only becomes totalitarian when such policies are employed by a eurosceptic government...

The first thing the Progressive Left does when it doesn't get its way is smear the opposition with vulgar ad hominems.

A certain drift to the right is inevitable after decades of occupation and oppression by the USSR.

Mainly this is just liberal angst and sour grapes.
Any man can hold his place when the bands play and women throw flowers; it is when the enemy presses close and metal shears through the ranks that one can acertain which are soldiers, and which are not.

Why is any Right Wing government automatically labeled "fascist" by those on the Left? It's not like Leftist governments are automatically called "Communist" or "Socialist," with equally derogatory meaning by the non-Left.

Well, there aren't many other directions politics can go given that situation...

Well, it's exactly how Leftist governments are called here at ACG. Even the liberal Democrats are called lefties.

Fascism is which much or less follows the liberals if we go to the right. Just like Socialists are those left of the center.

It's 25 years since the end of USSR. It's Poland, not Estonia.

I believe that's the exact charge that I see American republicans level against democrats actually.

Not the same thing. But I can see how it would confuse an outsider.

I certainly, for one don't automatically characterize Leftist governments as Communist or Socialist without some degree of proof. Yes, I suspect you can find others who do.

So? 25 years or 250 years, it doesn't change my argument.

There are hardly other types of Leftists governments apart those above.

It means that the current situation in Poland isn't related to USSR in any way...
