Doesn't matter - if 'Beijing' is a problem - a new alliance treaty should be written to deal with it, not an old one abused.
You're right---the US, Japan, India, ROK and OZ will deal with it and the EU can just go on its merry way, whistling down the dark path.

    • "Deal" with it ? China is a 3 thousand year old nation, what will you do with it ?

It has always been there, and presumably always will.

It will not likely remain unified under the CCP though, in time it will fall apart into it's separate parts, it usually does

For those of you that only joined us in the Trump era this is how a US republican on the ACG used to sound, before they all turned socialist

So this shouldn't be a suprise to anyone really.
The point is are the Chinese looking to be beligerent and my answer is unless they have some kind of nationalist government come into power why would they? Im pretty sure they'll push their neighbours around economically and to be honest they already are, including in Africa ( not that the rabid anti western types ever whine about that) but WW2 Japanese style? What would be the point, why kill and destroy your best markets.
To be frank, I think the biggest threat to creating a beligerent China is ourselves by getting all overly spooked and saying they've got this ship or that ship etc and going overboard. I've used this phrase before but I think it very pertinent. We will create our own self fulfilling prophecy. Lets not kid ourselves either, there has been a precedent of this sort before. Men like Curtis Le May believed that WW3 with the Soviets was a matter of when not if and it can be argued cranked the handle much harder than it needed to be. 13 days in 1962 nearly was his self fulfilled prophecy. In the end reason and peace won out. Lets not get it wrong this time.
This is as true as it was then.

This is the real sources of the conflict. US lost to China on a world stage.

The only problem is that the Doctor is right: advancing technology has rendered mid-20th century notions of "smokestack economy" obsolete. One guy in front of a bank of computer terminals today can do the same work as twenty guys on the assembly line did forty years ago. The Clement Atlee-an cum Donald Trump-ean fantasy of hundreds and thousands of guys with steel lunchboxes in hand going down to the mill every day are over.

And we'd all be better off if we candidly admitted that already. Whatever manufacturing that will return to the US from Asia will be of the high-tech kind: capital intensive, not labor-intensive. So the dreamers had either better get with the times, or get left behind.

In fact I liked the Old Republicans better then the current crop, they didn't win elections though.

At least not the last one. All they did was get us into a thankless war.

Sheep are better conversationalists than Texans. And they taste better than Michiganers.

What do New Yorkers and Texans have in common? They have a need to tell everyone within earshot that they're Texans or New Yorkers. It isn't necessary because it's immediately obvious.
