  • Four French hostages freed in Niger - President Hollande

29 October 2013 Last updated at 19:44 ET

Four French hostages kidnapped in Niger in 2010 have been released, France's President Hollande has announced.
    ...

No further details of the release were given, but it is believed that Niger's top negotiator Mohamed Akotey, a former Tuareg rebel, obtained the release over the last few days.

      They get money.
Medias said we gave 30 millions of euros to these scumbags.
So for the moment,a French hostage's average price is 7.5 millions of euros.
What is the price of a US,or a British hostage?
      Any idea?

Price varies. Officially it's illegal to pay a ransom. Unofficially that decision is often made by family or by an employer and they just don't tell anyone.

And just because the bad guys got paid yesterday it does not mean that you cannot drop a bomb on them tomorrow.

If you are French, might want to stay in more settled environs for a while. That sort of news gets people to thinking...

They are dead. The article also mentioned the release of the other four and possible ransoms.
