I hope not. B/W is how they were filmed. I've seen them both. I don't know what color would bring to them.

Perhaps a younger crowd of first time viewers.

I watched both first time round on American TV. It would spoil [email protected] to crayonize it.

I was fortunate to see them as more or less first run on TV back in the mid-late 50's. [email protected] as my favorite, great music score.

Same here. I was five when they first started showing on TV, IIRC. Followed by a half-hour of "Biography" (when we were lucky a military man or war leader) or "You Are There", one of those types of shows. We only had three channels then, so the odds were good that we'd watch [email protected]

These two films have always been my favorite documentaries of all time. In this case, I agree, they look best in black and white.

Both series suffered from a common problem. Neither one was made after Ultra/Enigma information became fully available.

Considering that most of VaS took place in the Pacific they play a little roll in the contents.

True, but if The World at War had waited a few years they could have added two more episodes on the code work alone. (The "Magic" documents came out about the same time.)
