      1. The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover

Arguably the most self-indulgent and needlessly repetitive film that I've ever seen. I left about twenty minutes before the grand finale. Don't tell me how it ends.

So bad that not only did we walk out, but I didn't even get any afterwards.

I was about 12, and really wanted to watch The Lord of The Rings but there were no seats left, so me and my friends ended up watching this, it was absolute kak to my 12 year old self, I've never bothered to give it a second chance.

We got there late, had to sit all the way the hell up front, so not only did I watch about two-thirds of that overrated crap, but I got a crick in my neck, to boot. At least the night had a happy ending -- but that's a story for another thread.

I've still yet to meet a genuine fan of Godard. Are there any in France? All of the Godard-philes here are pretentious art-house fops, and no one in their right minds believes that they screen Godard films when they're home alone. Saying you're a Godard fan makes you look cool to your NYU film school friends, but it means nothing in the real world.
