    • QBVII. I’ve seen it three or four times and it still makes me brake down.

      • Woody Allen's 'Midnight in Paris'

IMO his best movie in years.

Melancholgy about Paris in the 1920s with
Hemingway, Picasso, Gertrude Stein, Cole Porter, Salvador Dalí.

A feast for anybody with a minimum of cultural luggage.

            • I really wanted to like this more and I think those involved had the best of intentions but it was very average at best. It did leave me wanting to find out more about the whole thing. Has anyone read Declan Powers book?

Thank you. It is indeed the Siege at Jadotville.

                          • I went to see The Magnificent Seven last night.

Good remake. Some flaws in the story line and a few major unrealistic moments (Wow! That was a HUGE explosion for a single stick of dynamite...), but still a very good story.

I'm happy that I went to see it at the movie theatre instead of waiting for the DVD edition.

                              • The End Game with William Hurt. The focus of the movie is on the opening talks in South Africa to change the government. The dialogue is smart and thought provoking, much like the intensive exchanges among participants in the movie, The Conspiracy, which dealt with the Nazi decisions on how to handle the extermination of Jews.

The End Game meetings are a great illustration in determining perspectives and the questions one must ask and answer to clarify negotiations for conflict resolution (even in an individual's personal life). Absolutely edifying movie--I will watch it again before returning it to the library.
