    Vampira

THAT was NOT Vampira! You nearly gave me a heart-attack!

I remember the Ed Wood movie about how Plan 9 was made. Bela was way past his prime by then and did not respect the director at all.

Maybe I should try to watch it sometime. I also love 1950s space movies.

Tom Cruises movie did not capture the essence of the german resistance in 1944, merely staged the action scenes. American Viewers will not be much knowledgeable after having seen it.

American also don't know, that there are 5 older versions telling the story.

Tom Cruise was too much into making Stauffenberg into a hero he wasn't.
Because the Americans like greater than life Heroes with a Star Cult.
We Europeans like to portrait the "normal" person under the most extreme stress situations. More Grey than Black & White.
Some of lower ranking Soldiers, Dissidents, Political Prisoners a.s.o.
also lost their lives being in very dangeous positions, during the putsch.
                              They deserve a monument too.

The movie of Tom Cruise also does not explain of the fascination the average citizen had on Hitler , just the terror.

I saw a bunch of street interviews done in Germany. All of the people questioned seemed to think Stauffenberg and the others were the hero type.

In fact, the interviews gave the impression that all of Germany loves these guys, and always have.
"This life..., you know, "the life." Youíre not gonna get any medals, kid. This is not a hero business; you donít shoot people from a mile a way. You gotta stand right next to them... blow their heads off."
