  • Korean movie - the real dirty dozen - Silmido

Silmido is 'based' on a 'true' story. Following an attempted assassination of the South Korean president in '68 - South Korea decides to assassinate the North Korean president using a real dirty dozen - a group of death-row convicts. These prisoners are trained up over a period of months but just before the mission north gets underway South Korea decides to abandon the operation because of improved North-South relations. The question now is what to do with the prisoners. The South Koreans decide to simply murder the prisoners as a way of covering up the operation. The prisoners get wind of this and revolt.

Go to Click on Drama then Index and scroll down to Silmido. The movie is subtitled in English.

The movie was a major hit in Korea.
