Braveheart, passion of the Christ, Lethal Weapon 1, Maverick. As you can see Mel Gibson is one of my favorite actors and these were some of the finest films in my opinion.

I also loved the poker film rounders starring Matt Damon and Edward Norton. John Malkovich also did a great job in this film as a Russian gang leader/poker player.

So I like a good drama/action film. I never really got too much into the superhero or comic book films.

I am not an avid movie fan and I watch movies strictly for entertainment or something to do in the winter when I am not busy!
Movies I like, not necessarily in the order I like them.
                The Godfather, great story.
The Best Years of our Lives, probably the best movie ever made!
Bullitt, the best car chase, ever made.
The French connection, the second greatest car chase ever made.
Das Boot, a sub crew between a rock and a hard place.
A Bridge too Far, because my Father in Law lived it, and I like Michael Caine.
Zulu, because I like Michael Caine.
Secondhand Lions, because it is pure entertainment, and I like Michael Caine.
Rudy, It makes me smile, and feel good about life in general.
The Shawshank Redemption, just a good movie.
Fargo, comedy and drama mixed and good acting.

I made my guess before seeing this post. Maybe I was wrong.

Agreed on Rudy. And I would add in “The Natural” followed by “field of dreams” as my favorite sports films.

Good choice on Apocalypse now. Your avatar of Martin Sheen makes me want to grab a cigarette. But I can’t because of nerve pain issues, that’s for now now.

Last I saw of Martin Sheen was in that entertaining commercial showing Sheen in a pharmaceutical store complaining about the high prices of prescription drugs.

The original release of The Abyss just didn't feel right when I first saw it, the ending felt rushed. After acquiring the DVD version with optional extended ending, I was relieved to see the more polished film.

Another war film that really left its mark on me, it's called Come and See.
