  • Best unplugged artists

Assuming they will have to play for a tavern in the middle ages, what artist is in your view the better performer?
Life is change. Built models for decades.
Not sure anyone here actually knows the real me.
    I didn't for a long time either.

Sting or Stephen Stills are right up there.

Eric Clapton, but I really liked Alice in Chains unplugged also.
If you can't set a good example, be a glaring warning.

I would (at the risk of getting lyched) pick Celine Dion for female vocal.

But for male performer, hmmm. I've heard enough unplugged Clapton to know he's not just a studio voice.

The late Pavaroti was likely impressive unplugged.

Gotta give Celine her props....an amazing voice. On that tangent, Barbara Streisand was an amazing unplugged artist.

            Keb Mo or Willie Nelson.

                Only one choice for me!

Enya. Her music is incredible. I don't like any of the rock bands that try to go "unplugged" (amount in my collection? = ZERO).

I've never heard Enya unplugged, but if her voice is only half as good unplugged, good luck equalling her

                      Her album Celts is amazing.

The first one to perform unpluged on MTV.

My feelings exactly. Her voice is unrivalled, as far as I can tell, and her music is well suited to an "unplugged" format.

One I hadn't thought of earlier is the Faroese band, Tyr. Altho' they are a heavy metal band (and a great one), they do a lot of Faroese folk music -- they just make it rock. Might be a good one for the tavern. You can listen to them here http://www.tyr.net/videors.asp?Cmd=9

Bonus thing about Enya is she is drop dead gorgeous

                            Keep in mind, that's a 46 year old's viewpoint
