Cujo. It took me years, literally, to watch it right through and even then it had to be on TV broken up by commercials.
    Also Poltergeist

Scariest? That has to be the murder scene in Sisters. I dunno what creeped me out more, Margot Kidder in that movie or Bernard Herrman's musical score:

The "Exorcist 3 " it I promise, will scare the out of you.

The tension gets so thick, you'd need a nuc to cut through it.

Any film where little kids become demonic is simply no good for me. Exorcist, the Ring, Pet Sematary......

Modern horror movies just don't do much for me. From the 'early days' I would have to vote on The Legend of Hell House and the original The Haunting.

Blair Witch was the first and only that made it hard to sleep

Really? Because I had trouble staying awake when I saw it.
Stupid and boring. Bad traits for a horror film especially when they are put together in one film.

Has some one nominated "Everything About Steve" by Oscar winner Sandra Bullock?

Very few movies I consider scary because I know its just a movie/entertainment but for some reason White Noise really made my skin crawl.

                          Really?

That wonderful piece of pure garbage is only cool considering how much it took to make, and how much money it stole from fools.

I told my friends I refused to pay for it, and frankly the end 15 seconds simply wasn't worth it.

I thought the Skeleton Key was ok.

Now Darkness Falls was good. Maybe only for the shock effect of the scenes as it is good at the BOO!! gotcha effect and even managed to startle me a few times which is damn near impossible routinely.

But much of horror these days would be best labeled as merely violent, not scary. Seeing some obvious nasty attacker methodically kill people isn't much on the scary scale, merely often rough on weak stomaches.
Life is change. Built models for decades.
Not sure anyone here actually knows the real me.
                          I didn't for a long time either.
