Has to be Triumph of Will.
“To discriminate against a thoroughly upright citizen because he belongs to some particular church, or because, like Abraham Lincoln, he has not avowed his allegiance to any church, is an outrage against that liberty of conscience which is one of the foundations of American life.”

Top Gun. Didn't Navy recruitment jump 50% or something after it came out?

How about 'Went the day well?' about a fictional German raid on an English village. Made in 1942.

A number of the historical-type magazines carry ads for a company that sells classic war films on VHS or DVD. I recall seeing it for sale there and thinking about it but wasnt willing to pay 29.95 for it.

Cant believe you didnt have Triumph of the will on your list.

Not only a great propaganda film but a triumph of cinematography too. The sequence where the baby's pram is bouncing down the steps in the midst of the fighting has been 'borrowed' so many times it doesn't bear thinking about.
                Signing out.

The Eagle Has Landed is based off the wonderful book by the same name by Jack Higgins. Book is 10,000 times better than the movie.

Never has an adaptation annoyed me so much with skipped details.
