I don't really call Eastwood an "action" hero per se, but I generally consider him one of my favs.

I'm also a fan of the Duke and Charlton Heston. Not that they are the only ones, they just have so many great films.
Life is change. Built models for decades.
Not sure anyone here actually knows the real me.
      I didn't for a long time either.

You can't have a conversation about action heroes without talking about Arnold and Sly.
In the 80s and mid nineties nobody made more money making films than Sly and Arnold. I am not saying they are good of actors as the 5 guys you listed but action films they are just as big if not bigger than anyone.

Ugh, how could i forget Stalone and Arnold, those guys diffentatly.

Heston i really like, but see him more as a all arround great actor.

There's also Chuck Norris, but i think he's in a lower class.

I think the administrators need to start a seperate section for "best of", "top ten" and similar categories.

I guess my film course in college paid off, however:

Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., the granddaddy of them all.
            Tyrone Power
            Errol Flynn
            John Wayne
Burt Lancaster - did his own stunts.
            Lee Marvin
            Gregory Peck
            Gary Cooper
            Yul Brynner
            Charlton Heston
            Charles Bronson
            Steve McQueen
            Jack Palance
            Sean Connery
            Bruce Lee
            Jet Li
            Clint Eastwood
            Stewart Granger
            Cliff Robertson
            Burt Reynolds
            Rod Steiger
            Michael Cain
            Kurt Russell
            Sean "Sharpe" Bean
            Robert Shaw

To name only the merest few...

                Action? I got action.

I'm not going to typecast them like that. I'm going to go a step farther and tell you the greatest action characters...

                20. Rick and Evelyn O'Connel (The Mummy and The Mummy Returns): Able to whup up on human dry rot and evil babes all day long.

                19. Maximus: Are you not entertained? Damn right!

                18. El Mariachi: Cleans house in Mexico...God knows someone needs to.

                17. Ding Chavez (Rainbow Six) Worst nightmare of ficticious terrorist everywhere.

                16. Marv (Sin City): Hulking thug with a heart of gold, unless you're a cannibal.

                15. Nathan Zachary (Crimson Skies) Beds the babes, kills the bad guys, ace pilot...reminds me of me (the me of my dreams, that is).

                14. Buckaroo Banzai: Lectroids beware!

                13. Jason Bourne: Super-killer with amnesia.

                12. John McClane (Die Hard): Kicks ass with no shoes on.

                11. Aragorn: It takes a ranger to unite a bunch of morons and be kind of a big white mountain.

                10. Mal (Firelfly, Serenity): Reavers, Alliance...no matter...space hillbilly knows what to do...

                9. Ellen Ripley (Alien): More guts than her male co-stars.

                8. Captain Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbean): Making piracy a cool profession, though not exactly an honorable one.

                7. Detective Vic Mackey (The Shield): Fight evil with evil, and Los Angeles is definitely evil...

                6. Master Chief (Halo): Bend that Covenant over, Chief.

                5. The Tick: Spoooon!

                4. Han Solo: It takes a smuggler to smack around the Empire.

                3. Batman: Because he's Batman, fool.

                2. Ash (Evil Dead movies): Good, bad, he's the guy with the gun

                1. Indiana Jones: Don't bring a sword to a gunfight.

                Two cents.
