Tali-Ihantala 1944 is a film directed by Åke Lindman, based on the Battle of Tali-Ihantala. The filming will begin in the summer of 2006. Åke Lindman himself hopes the film can be as real as possible, and only include facts. He also wants Finns to remember the sacrifices the soldiers made in those battles.

The film got €350 000 production support from the Finnish Film Foundation.

This might prove very interesting, especially given the producers emphasis on realism. I wonder if his decision to make this movie was affected by Der Untergang which was one of the first European WWII movies after a long while.
