  • Best Western

Seriously this is perhaps the best western that I have seen. That's a lot of films. I've never heard of ths one and not a fan of the Star but
    take a look and enjoy
"Ask not what your country can do for you"

Left wing, Right Wing same bird that they are killing.

you’re entitled to your own opinion but not your own facts.

    Many to choose from:

    The Shootist
    High Noon
    Silverado
    Horse Soldiers
    The Unforgiven
    Dances With Wolves

Those are just the ones off the top of my head.

I'm torn between, "Wagons East," "Blazing Saddles," (although the ending tries too hard), "Texas across the River (the medicine-man nutting a tree/Dean Martin with an arrow in his a**e/ "Arow - Har !" "What did he say ?" "Arow-har." "Oh."), and our own, glorious, "Carry on Cowboy, " but then, I'm not a big fan.

I am fond of "The Searchers". Of course the book is better than the movie. The movie left out the last ride of the Karankawas.

Dances with Wolves was historically horrible. Not only that, but it's portrayal of the West and Plains Indians was pathetically bad. On the whole, one of the worst Westerns ever made.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
                  Tombstone
                  3:10 to Yuma

                  Not necessarily in that order.

For me, in no particular order:

                    Rio Bravo
My Name is Nobody (I love the soundtrack)
                    Tombstone
                    The Magnificent Seven (original)
                    Red Sun
                    Maverick

As an added point of discussion - What happened to Western as TV shows? It seems that law and police shows have the monopoly of current TV shows.

Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Maverick, etc I will even add Wild Wild West to the list.

                      My favorite was High Chaparral.

My Best Western is the one I'm watching at the time.

The long toll of the brave
                          Is not lost in darkness
                          Over the fruitful earth
                          And athwart the seas
Hath passed the light of noble deeds
                          Unquenchable forever.

Eastwood films had a lot of shooting with funny sounded effect and dialog that wasn't much. Other than that not much.
