likewise, the Spaghetti Western imho is a category of its own.
I agree. How about this one: The Professionals

There are more than a number of excellent westerns. I would be hard pressed to name more than just a few...........

I'd have to see it, but at first appearance I'd place in the same category as "The Wild Bunch"..

Neo Western if you want, like you have Neo Noire, compared to classic Film Noire

Happy you enjoyed the film. I'm NO fan of his. Just the opposite. IF I see just his name in the film I look else were. To much of the Italo in the film, bad looks to bad looks.

I've seen it - not the best but its essentially a western in style and plot despite including a Lewis gun and a model T Ford.

This. Marginal pg-13 warning. Very funny though.

The given time span was up to 1920, which easily includes The Professionals.

But if that's a problem, then Valdez Is Coming is also an outstanding performance, this time by Burt Lancaster.

To only do LSD for one of these movies is commendable constraint. Good list.

Not to be a wise guy, but the title is The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.

Great movie. Jimmy Stewart, John Wayne, Lee Marvin, Andy Devine, John Carradine, and more!

Stewart shines. He was by far the better actor. JW never would or could play the same rolls.
